KIDS AGES 2-3YRS LITTLE ARTISTS Ages 2-3 with adult This art-based class nurtures creativity while introducing your child to clay, collage, paint and print with developmentally appropriate projects exploring various mediums and techniques. 2 CREATIVE KIDS Ages 3-5 Join a Brickton classic! Tots come to have some fun at the gallery learning the basics of creating art. We ll paint, draw, glue, cut paper, and form clay. We introduce color, shape, alphabet, numbers with all kinds of art materials. Our program helps children prepare for preschool and kindergarten through creative exploration of stories, art and play. A mixed media class using watercolors, oil pastels, tempera paint, collage, clay, and more. A new project every week! 3 MINI MASTERS Ages 4-5yrs We will look at works by a famous artist each week, create a project inspired by their work, and learn why they were important to culture and history. With the help of Picasso, Monet, and many others who inspired the world, young artists will experience many mediums, from drawing, painting, and clay to watercolor and sculpture! 4 ADVENTURES IN ART Ages 5-8 This class is a staple in our curriculum for a reason! Here is a wonderful opportunity for this age group to get their hands in a little bit of everything. Learn a bit about every art medium, from drawing to clay to watercolor to sculpture! We will use ink, graphite, pastel, paints, and clay as we really get our creativity pumping! We will do a variety of projects which use the basic techniques of ceramics and grow from there. Students will be taught to embellish clay surfaces with unusual materials like rice and popcorn and use wire and screen on supports for elaborate clay sculptures. Students will be led in a series of projects and end this session with a project they design themselves. Layering and blending techniques will help you understand how to mix colors directly on the paper. The class may work with still life objects. 8 BRICKTON ART ACADEMY I Ages 9 - up This Class is ideal for those students who would like to learn or build upon their Fundamentals of Drawing skills, but are in need of the right environment to motivate themselves. During this 8 week studio session, students will be guided as they build their partnership between mind and materials. Students will become acquainted with line, value, proportion and composition to create successful drawings. Black and white drawing materials such as pencil, charcoal and paint will be used primarily for this session. Students will be introduced to color drawing materials in our upcoming drawing sessions. Weekly exercises will include still-life set up and portraiture using photos to explore art. Basic drawing materials will be provided for the first couple classes, additional materials may need to be purchased by the student. A Material list may be provided on the day of class. Students must be 9 at the start of this class & have completed the Drawing I Session. Minimum of 5 - Maximum 10 students for this class. Taught by artist Tom Dieschbourg. CREATIVE CERAMICS Ages 15-Adult Whether you are an old pro, or have never touched clay, there is a place for you in this wonderful class! Learn and refine clay hand building skills using coil and slab, pinch and drape construction techniques to create relief and three-dimensional ceramic forms. Learn the basics of forming pottery on the wheel. Color glazes will be used for embellishment. Use your own creative ideas to design functional and decorative art works for you and your home! 9 QUENCH YOUR PALETTE Ages 21 - up Quench your palette is an art class where you can sip your favorite beverage while our instructor shows you step-by-step how to paint a masterpiece worthy to hang on the wall at home. Its a productive and entertaining night with friends or a chance to meet new ones. Toast your artistic abilities or at least the willingness to do something different with your night out in this 2 hour class. Established in a gallery setting. All art project supplies will be included by Brickton. We recommend booking your party 4-6 weeks in advance to insure your preferred time is available. Please contact us to set up a time with our instructor 847/ CLASS REFUND AND CREDIT POLICY All Refund requests should be directed to Brickton via , in person or over the phone. If class is cancelled, or schedule of class is changed & student can longer attend. BAC will fully refund the tuition of that class. If a student withdraws from a course anytime between the 1st and 4th class BAC will retain tuition for classes attended but will refund the rest. Not attending a class does NOT constitute an official withdrawal from the course or cancellation of tuition and fees. Makeup classes are handled on an individual basis. Brickton staff will attempt to accommodate missed classes but there is no guarantee. Requests made within 10 business days after the last class meeting will be refunded. Your account will be credited in the manner it was received; credited online or check made payable to the original payee and mailed within 15 business days.
