1 NEW! The Cornwell Center is now offering Full Day camp options for Elementary School campers through our program. The program will allow campers to register for a morning and afternoon session of camp. During any time in between sessions, Cornwell staff will provide care and ensure that campers arrive to their next session safely and on time. Registration is required for the program during the time of online camp registration at. Cost: $25.00 per week Summer Camp Full Day Options include: June Cornwell Studio Clay Kids: Session 1 Roll, coil and extrude clay to create expressive and functional art. Create objects of joy and tactile expressions while taking our inspiration from nature. We will be working from a different theme from nature each session. Wear play clothes, we will get dirty. Minecraft Desert Island Survival (TechStars) Time: 9:00am-12:00pm Learn computer networking through this Minecraft experience that also allows you and your friends to work together as you mine, craft and build together to survive. This camp is great for beginners and Minecraft experts! The children will work together offline in our own Minecraft World hosted on a private server. They will find ways to survive creating everything themselves from scratch using just the Minecraft blocks, their mining and crafting talents and their imagination and ingenuity. June La Ciencia: Tierra, Viento y Fuego Science: Earth, Wind and Fire This will be a week loaded with learning and explorations we learn about science, our planets, robots and much more! Video Game Animation I & II (TechStars) Dive into the world of video game animation by creating characters that dance, sing and interact with one another. Add sound effects and music clips to create a dynamic video animation using Scratch, the innovative programming language created just for kids by MIT. Post your animation online so that your friends, your parents, even your grandmother can see your animation! Creativity rules in this first step of video game design!
2 July 6-10 Cornwell Studio Abstract Paint Learn what abstraction is all about! We will explore water based mixed media on paper and wood. Paint using a variety of techniques to create texture and variety in your own series of abstract paintings. Cocinando Cooking: Session 1 Ages: 3-10 years (participants will be in groups by age) Time: 9:00am-12:00pm This week, we will focus on healthy snacks and desserts while learning the vocabulary associated with food, silverware and things around the kitchen. These are our most popular camps register soon! July 6-10 Co-Ed Basketball Camp: Session 1 Time: 1:00-4:00pm Fee: $105 Cornwell Members, $125 The Cornwell Staff brings many years of camp experience and expertise in fundamental teaching and instruction. Campers are broken into different groups based on their age. Our camp experience is designed to provide young athletes the opportunity to develop and improve individual basketball skills. The camp schedule will include work on all phases of the game: ball handling, defense, footwork, passing, shooting, movement without the ball, and team drills.

Cornwell Studio Landscape Paint Ages: 8-12 years Be inspired by American landscape painters while painting your won masterpieces in the studio from photographs and in the open air landscape around the Cornwell campus. July Tiempos Medievales Medieval Times We ll go back in time to a land of castles, knights, princesses and epic adventures. Dinosaur Discovery (TechStars) Ages: 5-8 years Budding paleontologists learn about dinosaurs and the techniques used in extracting fossils in this hands-on class. Go on your own fossil dig, analyze and assemble skeleton pieces, produce a fossil reconstruction, create a mural and take home a movie documentary of your discoveries!
4 July Cornwell Studio Community Art Project Ages: 8-12 years Create garden sculpture and mosaic art to beautify public spaces. Campers will work as a team and finish works of art to install around the Cornwell campus. Pasaporte a la Diversion Passport to Fun Ages: 3-10 years (participants will be in groups by age) Time: 9:00am-12:00pm Get your suitcases ready as we travel to snow-covered mountains, hot and steamy rainforests, and beautiful beaches to learn about the people, animals and plants. Awesome Asana! Yoga camp for girls! (Monday-Thursday only) Ages: 6-10 years Time: 8:45am-1:00pm Fee: $145 Cornwell Members, $145 Elementary age girls bring their yoga practice to the next level with awesome Asana (yoga poses) and a choreographed Yoga dance party!! Each girl will have an opportunity to help create our final project of blending Yoga and expressive dance. Camp will be led by certified Yoga instructor Karey Tom of Charlotte Kids Yoga. Please bring lunch. Zu3D Fun with Animation (TechStars) Ages: 6-8 years Campers will use Zu3D Studio 3 to create a stop motion animation. While working in film crews, they will plan and storyboard an original idea. Taking their plans, they will use green screen technology and sophisticated digital editing techniques to develop their idea from concept through to a final movie, which you can take home and share.
5 August 3-7 Cornwell Studio Painting Art Camp Explore the world around us using traditional and contemporary painting techniques while we create fun, joyful expressions from still life painting and landscape paintings of the environment around our campus here at The Cornwell Center. Bring your creative clothes and an active imagination! August 3-7 Cocinando Cooking This is a tasty week in which we will learn about the vocabulary associated with food, fruits, vegetables, silverware and the place setting as well as several recipes from different countries. This cooking camps are our most popular camps register soon! Lego Design and Programming (TechStars) Create and program robots that rock and robots that roll! Using the LEGO WeDo Robotics Kit build a robotic monkey that plays a drum to a rock & roll beat, a lion that roars, a bird that flaps its wings, and a boat that will rock on the rough seas. Build knowledge of simple machines, engineering, programming, and teamwork in a course full of Rockin Fun!

August Viaje al Espacio Travel to Outerspace This week we will learn about planets, stars and moons. We will even make our own spacecraft and astronaut suit! Hack a Banana, Make a Keyboard! AND Engineering with Legos (TechStars) Fee: $140 Cornwell Members, $140 Community Members Campers will exploit the electrical properties of ordinary objects to transform them into extraordinary computer controllers. Prepare to stretch your imagination and creativity; enroll now and watch the world around you morph into a ripening harvesting ground for innovative computer interaction tools. PLUS: Join us as we explore, investigate, & solve problems while we learn about the building blocks of engineering -simple machines.
