2 THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARE NOT INTENDED TO REPLACE MANUFACTURER S DIRECTIONS Tools Needed: Knee Plate A long bar that is at least 14 inches long A shot bag Canopy Used For This Demonstration: Seven Cell Raven by Precision with the brakes set
3 1) Place riser line groups in hands as shown 2) With the slider in front of you, walk toward the canopy 3) Put all the lines over your shoulder 4) Flake the leading edge against your knee Page 1
4 5) Place the very tip of the leading edge between your knees and hold tightly 6) Lift the front grommet of the slider on one side and locate the four A lines, which will be hanging the highest 7) The other four lines in that grommet will be the B lines 8) Spread the two line groups by pushing the B lines away from yourself with your thumb Page 2
5 9) Place your arm between these line groups and fl ake or fold this section outward hold lines with the other hand 10) The C and D lines are in the rear grommet. Move the lines in this grommet away from yourself 11) This will allow you to fl ake or fold the canopy between the B and C lines and hold lines with the other hand Page 3 12) Lift the D lines and steering lines away from you
6 13) Flake between the C and D lines 14) Do the other side and fl ake the tail between the steering lines as shown 15) Flake the outer 3 cells on both sides to each side. Leave center cell open in the middle 16) Grip the lines as shown Page 4
7 17) Place your other arm under the canopy 18) Place on the fl oor 19) Pull the slider down about 3 feet by holding the leading and trailing edges. Flip back so that the bottom of the slider is up Page 5 20) Extend the slider between the lines so that the tape is showing
8 21) Fold the tape of the slider over the bottom grommet to match the top grommet 22) Tie bridle around the lines with one over hand knot 23) Fold one side away from you and lay on top. Leave the leading edge (nose cells) lay fl at 24) Flake out the three cells of the leading edge Page 6
9 25) Place hand at the top of the canopy as shown 26) Follow the three cells up at the top and fl ake this section toward you 27) Fold under in half 28) Place your knee or hand at the top of this fold Page 7
10 29) Flake this section out the same way 30) Fold under in half. S fold the stabilizer 31) Place your knee or hand at the top again and create a small fold. You may go inside to do this if needed 32) Fold the tail up to the inside steering line (Lines and Seams to the middle) then bring the C & D lines to the center Page 8
11 33) ALTERNATE METHOD: You may use a knee plate or long bar instead of your hand or knee on the previous folds 34) Fold the rest of the tail on this side 35) Place a shot bag as shown 36) Do the other side and remove the shot bag as you get to the middle. You may push the done side away a little Page 9
12 37) Ease both sides together if needed 38) Spread the center cells out (no farther than the inside steering lines) 39) Fold the tail back to expose the C and D lines 40) Bring the C and D lines to the middle again Page 10
13 41) Bring the folded tail to the middle 42) Remove the bridle and pull the slider up by holding the leading edges together 43) Position slider 44) Bring the tail back into position Page 11
14 45) Place the bottom of the tail between the fi rst fold and the leading edge 46) Do the other side 47) Place both your knees on the knee plate as shown or just your knees and cocoon the canopy 48) Grip the leading edge together with the canopy as shown and S-fold them under the canopy (do both sides) Page 12
15 49) Place the shot bag on the canopy 50) Hold the edge of the knee plate at the edge of the tail and place the long bar under the slider/ stabilizers. May use your hand instead of longbar. 51) Create an S-fold by drawing the canopy to the 52) Place the S-fold on top of the tail and hold with rig. REMOVE LONG BAR & KNEE PLATE your hand. NOTE: some smaller canopies a single fold or no fold is OK Page 13
16 53) Slip your thumb under the S-fold and ease the tail out from under the S-fold 54) Place the tail over the S-fold and redress if needed Page 14
17 THE DeWOLF PACK A Method Of Putting A Square Reserve into The Free Bag THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARE NOT INTENDED TO REPLACE MANUFACTURER S DIRECTIONS
18 1) Place the free bag next to the canopy with the lip of the bag even with the edge of the tail - fold top of the bag back as shown 2) Place the long bar under the canopy and the knee plate on top with the notch toward the rig 3) Squeezing the canopy between the knee plate and the long bar, lift canopy 4) Just high enough to slide the free bag under it (REMOVE THE LONG BAR) Redress if needed Page 1
19 5) Place one knee on the knee plate to hold S-fold in place. Remove shot bag 6) Grip the top of the canopy 7) Remove knee from the knee plate and hold the knee plate with the other hand and also lock the lines down as shown 8) Fold canopy back over the knee plate. This fold should be about even with the grommet in the free bag Page 2
20 9) Slide knee plate out using your fi nger in the notch 10) Place a shot bag on the canopy and press on fold to preserve it 11) Clear leading edge 3 cells to each side. Bring up center cell 12) Spread out the center cell even with the fold of the canopy Page 3
21 13) Bring the three cells on each side up and over the center cell and even with the center cell. May overlap a little 14) Place your knee over long bar as shown 15) Ease bag over the canopy then remove long bar and knee 16) Place your hand at the edge of the bag. Grip the top of the canopy and fold over the bag. Place shot bag over lines Page 4
22 17) Place both knees on the fl ap as close to the canopy as you can get 18) Molar the canopy. Three cells to each side just a little 19) Accordian fold the top of the center cell down to where it goes in the bag 20) Place in the center of the bag Page 5
23 21) Place the long bar over the center of the canopy with the other end on the shot bag and hold between your legs 22) ALTERNATE METHOD: Or place knee on the long bar 23) ALTERNATE METHOD: Or place knee on canopy only 24) Compress one molar and fold the end under a little Page 6
24 25) Insert in bag. Small bags bring your hand back an inch and repeat, etc 26) Do the other side Page 7
