1 Finished size: about 16 tall from his bottom to his ears. Trace all pattern pieces onto their respective fabrics adding 1/4 inch all around for seam allowance Supplies and materials: 12 oz. Poly-Fil Premium Polyester Fiberfill 1 ½ yard of fabric for the bear ½ yard of red fabric for the cape 2 animal eyes, 18mm Small piece of felt for the nose Black and brown embroidery floss for details Instructions for the Cape: Cutting (from red fabric): Strap: 3.5 x 47 (You may need to piece strips together to make the length) Cape: Fold remaining fabric in half. Place template for cape matching up the fold line. Cut 2 pieces. Assembly: 1. Sew cape pieces together with right sides facing and using a ¼ seam, leaving a 2 opening at the mark at top of the cape. 2. Turn inside out and press. Tuck in open ends, press. 3. With the wrong side up, fold strap ½ from each short side and press. 4. With wrong sides together, fold the strip in half lengthwise and press. 5. Open up the strip wrong side up. Fold each side towards the center crease and press. 6. With right sides together, fold again along your first crease and press. 7. Mark the centers of the strap and neck of the cape. 8. Matching the center marks, pin the strap to the cape so the strap forms a binding at the neck of the cape. Topstitch along the open edge of the strap to close the seam and attach the strap to the cape. Instructions for the Bear. Cutting: Cut pieces from the bear fabric as marked on templates.

2 Bear Head Assembly: Pieces #1-5 Sew ear pieces (#1) together with right sides facing, leaving straight portion open. Turn right side out. Sew forehead (#2) and side face pieces (#3) together making sure ears are in place (A2). Attach muzzle (#4) to forehead matching B and center. Sew muzzle center seam to close. Sew center seam of back of head (#5). Attach head back to front making sure ears are pinned in place (A1) and center of forehead matches the center seam at the back of the head Turn head right side out Bear front body assembly: Pieces #6-9 Sew belly (#6) center seam Sew leg tops (#8) to foot tops (#9) Sew leg tops (#8/9) and arm top front (#7) to belly according to letters on pattern making sure the outside edge of the leg is on the outside Bear back body assembly: Pieces #10-13 Sew tail pieces (#10) with right sides facing, leaving straight portion open. Turn right side out. Sew back (#11) center seam with right sides facing and tail in place as marked (I/J). Sew bottom leg (#12) center seam together from point S to K. Sew bottom leg (#12) to back (#11), matching letters on pattern (L/K). Sew arm back (#9) to back (#11), matching letters on pattern (M/N). Sew your front piece to the back piece leaving neck open and feet open. Sew soles of feet (#13) to leg openings, matching points Q and R to leg seams. Turn bear right side out. Face details: Insert animal eyes per manufacturer s instructions Cut a nose (#14) out of felt, pin in place and hand sew all around. Using a stem stitch and black embroidery floss, stitch a connecting line between the bottom of the nose and mouth Fold the very bottom of the mouth to shape a lip, pin. Make two stitches on each side where the pin is Finishing Hand sew head to body at the back of the neck using a ladder stitch (leave front open for stuffing) Stuff bear Hand sew opening closed using a ladder stitch.
