Purrfect Love Mug Mat You will need: 1/4 yard light fabric for background 1/4 yard each red floral and turquoise floral fabric Scraps of white and black for nose and muzzle 1/4 yard fabric of your

2 Purrfect Love Mug Mat You will need: 1/4 yard light fabric for background 1/4 yard each red floral and turquoise floral fabric Scraps of white and black for nose and muzzle 1/4 yard fabric of your choice for backing and binding. Fusible Web 9" x 12" piece of batting Embroidery Floss Step 1: Begin by cutting out the background fabric. You will need a square measuring 9.5" x 9.5". Place the fusible web over top of the pattern piece page with the smooth side up and trace the pattern pieces with a pencil. Step 2: Choose fabrics for your pieces and iron the fusible web, rough side down, onto the wrong side of the fabric. Cut out the fused pieces along the pencil lines. (IMPORTANT- be sure the smooth side is up and rough side is down. The rough side is adhesive which will stick to your fabric. You do not want it sticking to your iron) Suzy's Sitcom 2

Peel the backing of the fusible web off, lay your pieces down one by one, and iron them onto the fabric front. Now that everything is fused together it is time to add a bit of embellishment.

3 Step 3: Place the cut outs onto the backing fabric and arrange until you have a grouping that you like. Peel off the fusible webbing, which will leave a layer of adhesive on the back side of your fabric. Peel the backing of the fusible web off, lay your pieces down one by one, and iron them onto the fabric front. Now that everything is fused together it is time to add a bit of embellishment. There are multiple ways to sew your fabric pieces down. You can use a sewing machine to zig zag or straight stitch along the edges, or you can choose to do like I did and embroider around the edges. I used two stitches, the Blanket Stitch for the edges, and the Chain Stitch for the mouth and eyes. For embroidery, I used three strands of floss in a dark red. For 3 Bowtie blocks, Cut: (2 ea.) 4-1/4" light floral fabric squares (1 ea.) 4-1/4" red floral fabric square (1 ea.) 4-1/4" turquoise floral fabric square Cut the 4-1/4" squares in half diagonally, and then diagonally again as shown above. Make two red and light colored bow blocks and one turquoise and light colored bow block. With right sides together and using a 1/4" seam, sew pairs of blocks together as shown above. Each block will measure 3.5" x 3.5". Sewn together, the block strip will measure 3.5" x 9.5". With right sides together, using a 1/4" seam, sew the block strip to the cat block. Your total block now measures 12.5" x 9.5" Suzy's Sitcom 4

Layer the fused fabric front, one layer of batting, (cut to the same dimensions as the front and back of the mug mat). The bottom layer will be the fabric back with the wrong side up.

Pin the layers together. Use a straight stitch to quilt the layers of fabric together along the outside edges of the cats. 6 Purrfect Love Pillow You will use: 1/2 yard light colored fabric for pillow front and back 1/4 yard ea. red and turquoise fabric Scraps of white and black fabric Fusible Web 12" Pillow Form Cut (1 ea.) 12.5" square of light fabric for pillow front. Using the pattern instructions for the mug mat, center and iron on the cat pattern onto the right side of of the 12.5" fabric square. Embroider around the outlines of the pattern as shown in the mug mat section. Making the pillow sleeve: Step 1: Cut 2 pieces of light colored fabric for the back side measuring 12.5" x 11.5". Step 2: Fold one 12.5" long edge of one back piece over about 1/2 an inch and then again and sew along the edge to create a finished edge (Top Back). Repeat for one 12.5" edge of the other back piece (Bottom Back). Step 3: Place the Cat front with right side up. Then place the back bottom piece good side down lining up the corners with finished edge towards the center. Then place the top back piece good side down with finished edge towards the center. It will overlap the bottom piece. Pin in place all the way around. Sew all the way around your pillow with a 1/4 inch seam. Step 4: Turn your pillow cover right side out and add your insert! 7 Purrfect Love Baby Quilt Size 39" x 51" Fabric Requirements 2 yards light colored fabric 1-1/2 yards red floral fabric 2 yards turquoise floral fabric 2 yards of fabric of your choice for backing For 12 (9.5") Cat blocks, Cut: (12 ea.) 9-1/2" x 9-1/2 squares from light colored fabric. Using templates and instructions found in the mug mat section, complete each of the cat block, fusing the fabric and adding embroidery. Bow Tie Blocks, Cut: (31 ea) 4-1/4" x 4-1/4" red squares (16 ea) 4-1/4" x 4-1/4" turquoise squares (47 ea) 4-1/4" x 4-1/4" light colored squares (20 ea) 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" turquoise squares Cut the 4-1/4" squares in half diagonally, and then diagonally again as shown in the diagram to the right. Assembly With right sides together, using a 1/4" seam, sew a light colored triangle to a red triangle along the short side of the triangle as shown above. Press seam. With right sides together, using a 1/4" seam, sew a red triangle to a light colored triangle along the short side of the triangle as shown above. Press seam. With right sides together, using a 1/4" seam, sew the red/light triangle to the light/red triangle along the long side of the triangle as shown above. Make a total of 31 of these three-block strips. With right sides together and using a 1/4" seam, sew together a strip of three sets of bowtie blocks and 4 ea. 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" turquoise squares. Make 5 of these strips. With right sides together and using a 1/4" seam, sew together a strip of three cat blocks and four sets of bowtie blocks. Make 4 of these strips. With right sides together and using a 1/4" seam, sew together the assembled strips in the order shown in the diagram to the left Suzy's Sitcom 8

9 Cut a piece of fabric for your backing 55 long and at least 41 wide. Lay backing fabric right-side down. Place a layer of batting over top, and then the quilt top (right side up) on top. Baste all three layers together to prepare for quilting. (I generally hand baste with very long (6 ) stitches, diagonally, horizontally and vertically across the quilt through all three layers. Finish the quilt with your favorite quilting style and binding technique Suzy's Sitcom 9
