From the large fabric: Cut seven -/ x strips From the fabric: Cut eight x strips, recut into one-hundred twelve x pieces Cut six x strips From the Lis fabric: Cut one -/ x strip, recut into six -/ squares Cut nineteen -/ x, recut one-hundred twelve -/ x -/ pieces Cut twelve x strips, recut fifty-six x and one-hundred twelve -/ x pieces From the print: Cut nineteen -/ x, recut one-hundred twelve -/ x -/ pieces Cut twelve x strips, recut fifty-six x and one-hundred twelve -/ x pieces From the Lis fabric: Cut two x strips, recut into sixteen squares Cut six x strips, recut into one-hundred twelve squares From the white-on-white: Cut six x strips, recut eight x and eight x strips From the : Cut twelve x strips, recut one-hundred twelve x pieces Cut eight -/ x strips for binding Cut eight -/ x strips

2 Page Sewing Directions:. Using templates, cut the following pieces of the fabrics ted: Triangle Template - cut from Lis Triangle Base Template - cut from Diamond Template - cut from Lis Edge Template - cut from Edge Template - cut from Lis. Sew a Lis triangle to each triangle base. Make triangle units.. Sew a triangle unit to opposite s of a -/ Lis square. Make diagonal units.. Stitch two edge pieces ( and Lis) to Lis diamonds to make the following number of each edge units. Make Make Make. Sew edge units to both s of the remaining twelve triangle units to make the number of sections as shown. Make. Using partial seam piecing, sew a diagonal unit between two sections to make the number of each block indicated. Partial seam piecing is how seams that are not straight are sewn. Sew one section of the seam, stop with your needle in the seam, adjust the fabric so the raw edges of the next part of the seam are even and then sew the next seam where the seam changes direction. 4 Page. Stitch one each paper pieced section to each other along long edges. Make quarter-block sections. Make. Lay out four quarter-block units in two rows as shown. Stitch sections into rows. Sew rows together. Make a total of Swirl Blocks. Remove paper from back. Make Assembling the Quilt Top:. Refer to the colored quilt image for placement of blocks and borrs.. Arrange Swirl Blocks around the quilt center. Sew the three blocks on each together then sew to the quilt center. Stitch the top and bottom four blocks into rows then sew to top and bottom of the quilt center.. Cut two x strips each into two equal halves. Sew each half-length strip end-to-end with a full-length strip. Add borrs to and left s. Press and trim excess from these and all successive borrs. Add top and bottom borrs.. Make a borr with four x white strips with three Lis squares sewn between the strips. Make. Sew borrs to and left s of quilt.. Make a borr with four x white strips with five Lis squares sewn between the strips and on each end. Make. Sew borrs to top and bottom of quilt.. Stitch seven -/ x large strips together end-to-end. Cut into four equal lengths. Sew borrs to and left s, press and trim excess. Stitch borrs to top and bottom of quilt, press and trim.. Make four borrs each with two -/ x strips together end-to-end. Add borrs to and left s then top and bottom, pressing and trimming after each borr addition. Finishing the Quilt:. Layer the quilt backing, batting and quilt top. Baste layers together.. Quilt or tie as sired.. Prepare binding from eight -/" x " strips of fabric. Sew strips together into one long binding strip. Press strip in half lengthwise.. Carefully trim backing and batting even with quilt top.. Leaving an " tail of binding, sew binding to top of quilt through all layers matching all raw edges. Miter corners. Stop approximately " from where you started. Lay both loose ends of binding flat along quilt edge. Where these two loose ends meet, fold them back on themselves and press to form a crease. Using this crease as your stitching line, sew the two open ends of the binding together s together. Trim seam to /" and press open. Finish sewing tape to quilt.. Turn binding to back of quilt and blind stitch in place. Sign and date your work.
