3 Straight staircases - lightweight, attractive designs Standard Straight Flight Staircases Weland staright flight staircases are manufactured from steel and are mainly used within industry and as evacuation staircases in different types of buildings. Weland's straight flight staircases for installation consist of four main components. Stringers, treads and landings of grating as well as railings. The staircases are delivered as separate parts that are screwed together during installation. The delivery includes the necessary nuts and bolts. The staircases are hot dip galvanised as standard. Straight Staircases with Alternatives Designs Straight flight staircases that differ from our standard are used in environments such as offices, homes, entrances, public areas, schools, etc., and are manufactured according to your needs. Alternative designs may be different stringers, other materials in the treads, such as, for example, wood and smooth plate with carpet. Railings with more than one intermediate rail, in materials such as wood with, for example, glass or sheet metal infill. The staircase's surface treatment can also vary according to your wishes. 4 Straight staircases for evacuation and industry Weland's straight staircases for industrial applications are manufactured as standard with treads in grating. As standard, the railing comes with intermediate rails, and the staircases are supplied hot-dip galvanised. Weland's straight steel staircases can be used as evacuation staircases and for providing access to all types of environments. Manufacture takes place in accordance with the Construction Rules issued by the Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning (BBR) and is dimensioned in accordance with Eurocode with national application (0)

Weland's straight staircases for office and home applications can be manufactured with treads in a number of different materials. The railing can also be made from different materials for both the handrail and the infill between the posts. The railing for straight staircases for home and office application is ordinarily designed to be child-proof. 6 Standard straight flight staircase Manufacture takes place in accordance with the construction rules issued by the Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning (BBR) and is dimensioned in accordance with Eurocode with national application. Railings Weland manufactures three different types of standard railing for straight flight staircases. Industrial railings, railings with intermediate rails and round-bar railings. The railing height as standard is 900 mm on the flight of stairs and 1100 mm on landings. If there is a risk of falling and the fall height is greater than a normal storey, the railing should be at least 1100 mm high. Industrial railing Handrail and balusters in tube Ø 42 mm. Standard stair treads The standard stair tread, TH6,is manufactured from pressure welding grating with a mesh c/c 33x75 mm. TH6-S is manufactured from the same type of grating but has a safety front edge that clearly marks the front edge and, in addition, provides increased anti-slip protection. Childproof Childproof means that none of the openings in the staircase are permitted to be larger than 100 mm up to a railing height of 800 mm.. max. 100 mm max. 100 mm (0)

8 Alternative designs Railings Railings with several intermediate rails, glass infills, sheet metal infills, square profiles and crenellated mesh are examples of other types of railing made by Weland. Glass infills, sheet metal infills and crenelated mesh are childproof railings, i.e. the openings do not exceed 100 mm. Handrails Round 50 mm solid wooden handrail can be delivered. Other handrails can be offered at request. Extra handrail Weland straight staircases can also be equipped with an extra handrail. 9 Stair treads Apart from grating type treads,we can also manufacture treads in slit plank type flooring, in durbar plate, plank type flooring (closed, holed, slit and perforated), smooth plate with carpet, different wood types, concrete, concrete with Terrazzo wearing surface etc. Contact us already in the design stage, and we will come up with the answer for your request. 10 sashlock Protective cage To prevent unauthorised persons from entering the straight flight staircase, it can be supplemented with a protective cage at the bottom. The protective cage is supplied in sections to be bolted together. The requisite bolts etc. are included. The cage is placed on the foundation. Protective cages are manufactured in various versions, grating, expanded metal, tubes, etc. The cage door is secured by an ASSA 565 falling latch lock and door handles on both sides. The cage is opened from the outside by key and by knob from the inside. Gates Weland gates can be mounted on the straight flight staircase. 11 Straight staircases special and combistairs Special stairs are staircases that deviate from Weland standard. These stairs are manufactured in a variety of designs and combinations. As a rule, if the architect or the customer desires a special design of the railing or other parts of the staircase, on the whole, we can provide that. This can be made in different kind of plates or other desires to obtain a special look. Staircases with heated stair treads Over the years, we have supplied a number of flushing stands to a concrete supply company and its facilities in the Stockholm region. During the winter, there is a major problem with snow/ice in this type of concrete station, where concrete trucks reverse in and flush out the remaining contents prior to refilling. The stair treads and landings are specially made and consist of square tubes that are placed on end up againsteach other. When the flushing stand with staircases and gangways has been installed, electrical heating cables are run through the stringers and the square tubes. In this way, icing is prevented and the workplace is safe, even in winter. Combi-stairs Weland combi-stairs, as the name suggests, are combinations of straight staircases and spiral staircases.
