4 1 Notes on this guide Thnk you for choosing Centrosolr S-Clss Integrtion/S- Clss Integrtion Deluxe modules. If you hve ny questions regrding the system components plese contct our technicl support: +49 (0) The mintennce nd opertion of PV system require sound technicl knowledge. Therefore, ny work on the system my only be crried out by qulified nd uthorized personnel. Mke sure to red these ssembly instructions crefully before instlling, commissioning or servicing the system, nd store these instructions in well ccessible loction. This guide is prt of the product. It is pplicble only to S-Clss Integrtion/S-Clss Integrtion Deluxe solr modules by Centrosolr AG. Plese py specil ttention to the notes on the sfe use of the system. Centrosolr is not lible for ny dmge resulting from disregrding this guide. Trget groups The trget group of this guide, especilly chpter 5 (Sfe instlltion) re skilled crftsmen. All relevnt informtion for the opertor cn be found in section 8 (Mintennce nd clening). Informtion regrding your sfety nd the protection of the device is highlighted. 2 System S-Clss Integrtion (Deluxe) 2.1 Description The S-Clss Integrtion (Deluxe) mounting system replces the conventionl roofing of pitched roofs nd is used for roof inclintion of more thn 10 degrees. It is lid onto the existing roof lthing nd is suitble for old nd new buildings like. Due to the rrngement of the system lthing, the S-Clss Integrtion (Deluxe) mounting system provides for bckside ventiltion in order to cool the modules from the bck. For the electricl connection, HUBER+SUHNER prefbricted connectors re used. 2.2 Tightness The S-Clss Integrtion (Deluxe) mounting system offers rin resistnce which is comprble to stndrd pntiled roof. It does not men tht roof is wter tight! Under certin climtic conditions, snow flkes, driving rin oder wter my penetrte under the modules from the eves. For proper dringe of ingressed wter or condenste, n intct sub-roof is required. If not vilble, such roof must be erected/retrofitted prior to instlltion of the modules. Plese note: Disregrding the instructions of this instlltion guide my void ny wrrnties, gurnties nd product libilities. 2.3 Sub-roof The generl rules, which re vlid for roofers, shll pply to the design nd the bckside ventiltion of the subroof. In order to extend the lifetime of the substructure, the bckside ventiltion should be enhnced by mens of the module lthing nd ventiltion orifices t the eves nd ridge. In ddition, bckside-ventilted crystlline modules will offer higher yield. A structurl stbility of the roof nd/or the roof substructure with regrd to wind nd snow lod, which llows the resulting lods nd forces to be bsorbed nd trnsfered by the roof substructure the rfters, lthing nd connecting elements is bsic requirement for the instlltion of photovoltic system. 2

11 5 Sfe instlltion 5.1 Preliminry remrks Direct-current connection (DC) Since the module nd string cbling will be inccessible fter the instlltion of the PV in-roof system, the opencircuit voltge of ech string must be checked fter it hs been lid nd wired. Grounding of the PV genertor A grounding of the PV genertor is not mndtory. However, tmospheric influences nd rections of the inverters my led to chrging of the metllic frmes of the genertor field to erth potentil. The resulting contct voltges re not hzrdous, s the lekge currents will be monitored by the inverter. Nevertheless, these contct voltges cn led to strtle rections nd therefore result in "secondry dmge". Whenever persons my come into contct with the PV field during opertion of the PV system, the metllic prts of the genertor field must be grounded. Overvoltge protection The overvoltge protection generlly serves to protect the inverter nd the systems ginst indirect lightning strikes. This subject will not be delt with in detil here. Plese note: It is strictly forbidden to direct rtificilly concentrted sunlight onto the module or pnel, s this will dmge the module. The PV genertor, or the genertor re respectively, must be integrted rectngulrly into the roof (see "3-4-5 rule"). Therefore, it must be prllel to eves nd verge. For non-rectngulr roofs (e.g. old buildings), the PV genertor should be prllel to the verge for opticl resons. Any unevenness of the roof structure must be leveled to n extend tht llows level mounting of the module lthing. The roof structure must be fitted or retrofitted (if required) with n intct trussed sheet. The screwed connections must be pre-drilled in order to void splitting or breking of the wood. Hole dimeter = 0.7 x screw dimeter in mm. The module lthing must be screw fstened on the roof lthing. Therefore, lwys check whether it is fstened rigidly on the rfter! Plese note tht regulr nils (wire nils) re not llowed s fsteners. Alwys use ribbed nils or screws ccording to DIN For the module lthing, 38 mm x 58 mm roof lths must be used. Prior to module instlltion, the DC min lines must be lid ccording to the module connection digrm prepred for the respective site. The module connection cbles must not be subjected to tensile stresses. 9

Rectngulr integrtion of the PV genertor The 3-4-5 rule is good wy to determine the right ngle. Divide cord by knots or mrks into sections with proportion of 3 to 4 to 5 (e.g. 3 meters, 4 meters, 5 meters).

31 7 Commissioning of the system The commissioning of photovoltic system is prt of the proper nd professionl implementtion nd instlltion. It must only be performed following creful visul exmintion nd professionl electricl inspection. Furthermore, report of the commissioning must be prepred. Follow the below checklist during commissioning of the system. Visul exmintion: Anchoring of the components to the roof structure Cble instlltion on modules, genertor connection boxes, DC-sectioning points nd inverters Potentil equliztion (if pplicble) 8 Mintennce nd clening This photovoltic system requires extremely little mintennce nd servicing. However, do inspect the system regulrly nd perform check every 6 months following this scheme: Checking of the solr modules for scrtches, opticl chnges or contmintion Checking of the module fstening, if ccessible Checking of the wiring, if ccessible (connection led, fstenings, mechnicl dmge) Checking of the electricl functions of ll components Monitoring of the opertionl sfety of the electricl components This list is only for your informtion. With n inclintion of more thn 15 the modules generlly need no dditionl clening. In cse the module surfce is contminted by leves, bird feces, pollen etc. we recommend clening with sufficient wter without detergents. The modules re best clened using wter hose nd soft, gentle clening equipment, e.g. sponge or cr clening brush. To void micro-scrtches, which my ffect the yield of the system or could led to module dmge in the long run, the dirt must never be rubbed or scrped off the surfce in dry stte.
