5 After you watch 14 Ask and answer the questions with a partner. Write down your partner s answers. 1 How many artists from your country can you think of? 2 Have you ever seen any of their artwork? Where? 3 Are there any sculptures in your school or town? What are they like? 4 What giant sculpture would you like to make? 5 Do you put photos on your profile page? 6 Do you like looking at other people s photos? Why? Why not? 15 You want to take part in a school art project to decorate the walls of the school corridor with giant murals. The theme is Turn our school green and the mural should illustrate ways the school could be more environmentally friendly. Design a mural and draw it below. Some ideas: solar panels, recycling rubbish, turning off taps, growing vegetables, switching off lights. 5
6 After you watch 16 With your partner, choose who is Student A and who is Student B. Use the Language banks to explain your ideas for your mural to your partner. Write down your dialogue. Student A Tell your partner the ideas behind your mural, explaining why you chose the design and how you plan to create it. It s a big project, so you ll probably need some help. Ask your friend to help you complete the mural. Language bank Student A The idea is to paint a mural to show ways of saving energy Can you help me make a mural? Can you meet at lunchtime to start work on it? Could you help paint the background? Student B Listen to your friend s explanation of their mural idea. Tell them what you think of their plan and give them some ideas on how they could make it better. You d like to help them complete the project, so offer to help where you can. Language bank Student B It is going to look great! I like doing this sort of thing. Shall I bring some paints? Where are we going to paint it? 17 Practise your dialogue and then act it out in front of the class Extra! Swap roles and discuss your partner s mural. Now write your own sketch and perform it to the class. 6
