Supplies: Stamps: Plant Hope, Vintage Labels (sentiment) (Stampin Up!); Water Pattern (Stampscapes) (optional) Paper: Glossy White, Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise (Stampin Up!) Ink: Sahara Sand, Baja Breeze, Tempting Turquoise (Stampin Up!) Stampin Write markers: Early Espresso, Soft Suede, Old Olive, Always Artichoke, Sahara Sand (Stampin Up!); Versamark Pen Accessories & Tools: Speedball Brayer, Scratch paper (scrap paper), temporary adhesive (optional), permanent adhesives, embossing folder, Big Shot or similar machine, clear embossing powder, heat tool, ¼ Old Olive Grosgrain ribbon (approx. 7 ), small oval punch, medium oval punch Cut the following pieces of cardstock: Glossy White: 3 1/4 x 2 1/2 Old Olive: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 folded in half (card base) 3 1/2 x 2 3/4 scrap for sentiment Tempting Turquoise: 5 1/4 x 4 Sahara Sand: scrap for sentiment Set aside all the pieces of cardstock for later (except for the glossy white). Take the time to wipe off the surface of the glossy paper with a clean towel because ink will not stick to any oily spots on the paper (i.e. fingerprints). Now on to the fun stuff!

2 First, cover your glossy white cardstock with an anti-static pad if you have one (like an Embossing Buddy) optional. Ink the stamp using the Stampin Write markers: Sahara Sand for the sand at the bottom of the palm tree; Early Espresso for the tree trunk; Always Artichoke for the palm leaves (fronds). Huff on the stamp (your breath will remoisten the ink that may have dried by the time you finished coloring the stamp). Stamp the image approx. 3/4 from the bottom of the glossy white cardstock. Quickly cover the image with clear embossing powder. Knock off any excess embossing powder and then blow on your image to make sure there is embossing powder on the image only. Use the heat tool to melt the powder. Using the Soft Suede Stampin Write marker, fill in the trunk of the palm tree. Using small, stiff paint brushes (or small tipped sponges), swipe across Old Olive stamp pad and randomly add color to the palm fronds. Repeat this by adding more Always Artichoke ink to the palm fronds as well. Using the small tip of the Always Artichoke Stampin Write marker, draw in the stems of the palm tree to add depth.

3 Using the Versamark pen, color over the whole image making sure to not go outside the lines of the image. Cover with clear embossing powder and use the heat tool to melt the powder. Your image is now fully covered with clear embossing powder which will resist the ink when you brayer the background. This is called Emboss Resist. Optional: Use temporary adhesive to hold glossy white paper onto a large piece of scratch paper. That way the cardstock doesn t move around when brayering. Now on to the masking and brayering. Using a post-it note, mask a straight horizon line approx. 1 above the bottom of the cardstock, covering the water and sky areas. Brayer the sand area with Sahara Sand ink.

4 Move the mask up approx. 1/2 higher, so it is covering the sky. Add a second post-it note mask covering the sand area. Brayer the water area, first with Baja Breeze, filling in the complete area between the two masks. Brayer Tempting Turquoise on top of Baja Breeze, making sure to not completely cover the Baja Breeze. You want to leave some of the previous color showing so you have a graduation of colors. Leaving the masks in place, ink the Water Pattern stamp with Tempting Turquoise and stamp until the entire water area is covered (two stampings) optional. As an alternative, you can use a Stampin Write marker to draw in the water ripples.

5 Remove the two masks. Brayer the sky area with Baja Breeze, leaving some white space between the bottom of the Baja Breeze ink and the start of the water. Brayer Tempting Turquoise on top of Baja Breeze, making sure to not completely cover the Baja Breeze.

6 Take a clean cloth or paper towel and gently wipe over the embossed image, removing any ink that may be sitting on top from the brayering. Now on to finishing the card Run the large piece of Tempting Turquoise cardstock through a Big Shot with the embossing folder. Tie a half-knot with the Old Olive ribbon and adhere approx. 1 from the bottom of the Tempting Turquoise cardstock. Using sticky strips, adhere the embossed panel to the card base. Frame the brayered main image with the Old Olive cardstock. Attach to the front of the card, using dimensionals to pop it up. Stamp the sentiment with Tempting Turquoise ink onto Sahara Sand cardstock and punch out with small oval.
