The CCAC Guild Inc will accomplish this through education, social functions and events where artists are given the platform to exchange ideas, show their work, and market their craft. Board Members Laura Voss Vox 1 vox1muzik@yahoo.com Featured Artist: Ray and Phyllis Chapman Loofah Bay Ray and Phyllis Chapman established LoofahBay as an outlet for their crafts approximately fifteen years ago. At that time, we were interested in making all natural bath products: soap, lotions, facials, and grew loofah gourds which are used as a natural bath sponge. Thus, the name loofah.. We continue to make soap but over the last five years have had new interests. Ray is a self-taught lapidary, who loves slicing, cutting, shaping, polishing stones of all sorts AND creating jewelry from them. His favorite is wire wrap and uses ONLY.925 Sterling and 14k Gold-fill. Phyllis has a sincere interest and can be very opinionated with design suggestions. Mark your calendars and spread the word! Nadine Miller & Zoe Crane orchestrated and conducted the crafting sessions at the Senior Center twice a month. Katherine Gray photographed Guild members items for website, created impressive flyers, revised applications & entry forms, updated ads for publication, and posted documents to our website. Vox1 for planning, acquiring funding, and orchestrating the Local Idol contest that will be the performing arts portion of our Winterfest event.

3 C CA C Gu ild I n c Newsletter O c t ober 2014 P a ge 3 Ray and Phyllis Chapman continued Phyllis has recently become interested in making Japanese Kumihimo braided cords, to coordinate with Rays' pendants, and has always had an interest in photography- so is learning the art of macro photography!! Thus a website... Ray and Phyllis joined Coastal Carolina Artists and Crafters Guild Inc upon discovering their Spring 2014 event and were happy to present at the October 2014 Meeting.

The art you choose to abandon is completely up to you. There is NO requirement for the type of art that can be abandoned. It can be anything from a canvas to a decorated bookmark, jewelry, painted rocks, a knitted headband, etc. Create and abandon! Tips: Label your art with a note or a tag stating that it is Left and Found Art. You may choose to leave a contact and ask the finder to let you know it was found, or you can leave the group's artleftandfound@yahoo.com, and we will post mail call as they come in. Please leave the web address of our page, as we are hoping to gain new members! Items we heard you are looking for: white Christmas lights Gallon plastic jugs water/milk ribbon- any color, any size Wine bottles Acrylic paints all colors, all types (metallic, pearl, etc) *Stuffed cats & dogs for tree decorations and diva bling to jazz up these cats & dogs for Festival of Trees tree * used ink cartridges Bring supplies to next Business Networking session OR drop off at 30-Minute Muffler (next to Daily News) on Bell Fork Rd

6 P a ge 6 C CA C Gu ild I n c Newsletter O c t ober 2014 Happenings Festival of Trees Our trees brought in the most $ on the Caregivers & Hospice s Silent Auction for the Caregivers & Hospice How to be a profitable Artist presented by Annette Dunlap on Sept 30, 2014 Guest Speaker at August 2014 Business Networking with Artists & Crafters Kelly Wright Presentation on 2014 CCAC Guild Members will be selling their creative items at the Festival of Trees. Ten percent of the sale is donated to the Caregivers & Hospice. Looking forward to having these creative folks at the event selling their top of the line items. *There will be a tree decorated in our booth using the ornaments that Nadine Miller and Zoe Crane have been working on all year theme: I ll Be Home For Christmas. *The CCAC Guild will also be providing the decorations for the Friends of Animal Services Tree. Theme: Furr-ever Home. Decorations will include stuffed animals with Divastyle Bling added. Dates TBA to create these ornaments. *Gretchen Mitchell, owner of New River Pottery, will be coming up from Wilmington to decorate a tree - themed: French Candy. She will need the assistance of a Guild member to decorate her tree. She will provide the decorations and it will be near our booth instead of in the foyer. **The CCAC Guild s oversized wreath will be in the foyer to welcome guests. Our Giant Gingerbread House will be on site for Festival of Trees to use as well. Small Business Taxes
