Standard card tables are 28"H x 35"W. Therefore, 72" felt (2 1 2 yds cut lengthwise) should provide 2 panels that span the card table both ways. Cut the 2 panels, trimming the sides and bottom as necessary for a good fit. 2. On one side, mark, but do not cut, a flap 16"W and 20"H. 3. Using the photo as a guide, cut the pattern pieces and set aside. Most pieces are attached to the felt house with HeatnBond, following manufacturer s instructions. Begin with the bottom layer of each element i.e., black track, white line, red car, white windshield and bumper, yellow headlights and sign, black tires, black/white/blue/white of eyes, black windshield wipers, smaller cars, etc. and build up one layer at a time, for a good bond. Stubborn pieces can also be attached with Fabri-Tac glue. Self-adhesive felt letters and numbers are adhered last. 4. Flags are 4"x6" white rectangles adhered to house. Apply HeatnBond to a panel of black felt and cut into 1" squares. Position on flag and bond with iron. 5. For signs, lay out letters first to determine the size of the sign. Cut out pieces separately, and again, adhere to house from the bottom layer up. Adhesive letters are added last. 6. For pit stop hose, wrap a narrow rectangle of yellow felt with HeatnBond ironed on around each end of red cord. Iron both ends until bonded. Taper one end with scissors. Fabri-Tac the other end inside a loop of felt made from a 1"x6" strip. Attach Velcro to the inside of the loop so it can be opened and closed to hold the red cord. Glue the loop to the Pit Stop pump, as shown. 7. For car wash door, iron a 16"x16" panel of black felt to the house. Cut into 1" strips almost near to the top of the panel.

Round tire Using the pattern, cut a gray circle and place it over the round tire. 10. Track on tabletop Cut a 5" wide track, using pattern and adhere to house. Cut 2" strips of white felt and place them, spaced along the center of the track. 11. When house is complete, cut out the flap you initially marked. This prevents excessive stretching of felt during playtime. SUGGESTIONS FOR OTHER 2 SIDES: 1. Repeat one or both of the original 2 sides. 2. Create a Car Race Ticket Booth with play tickets and money. 3. Create a Grand Stand and make an audience from felt pieces. 4. Create a Snack Bar or Car Race Shop, selling play food or souvenirs. 5.
