2 BACK PACK MINI-ALBUM Welcome to Toni Darroch s instructional guide to creating your own back pack mini album. This document has been prepared in a step-by-step format, and assumes some basic crafting knowledge from the reader. The instructions have been tested on a group of crafter s to ensure they are clear and easy to follow. 6 1. Fold (A) in half using the prescored marking (x4). One side is slightly longer than the other, trim to desired size. Instructions Adhere (B) to (A) using double sided tape. Ensure the edge of (B) only just covers the tape on (A). Repeat to make 4 POCKETS. Be careful not to cover the punched wholes. 3. Matt (C) onto both sides of the 4 POCKETS, covering the join as shown. From this point 4 different pockets are then made. 4. Pocket 1. Fold (D) using pre-scored marking. Place the scored edge into the top of the pocket (A). Stick the edge of (D) down before sticking that side of (A) closed. The result will be that (A) forms a complete pocket with 3 sides closed and an opening. (D) will then hang like a flap. FOLDED EDGE (B) WRAPS AROUND ONE OPEN SIDE OF (A) DON T SEAL THIS EDGE CLOSED 5. Adhere a penny onto the bottom of (D) to weigh it down, using glue. Adhere the scallop (E) on top. 6. Fold (F) along pre-scored marking. This creates a tab SEAL EDGE CLOSED PENNY & SCALLOP STUCK TO (D)

7 Instructions 2. Insert the short end of (F) into the open end of pocket (A) and adhere without sticking the pocket shut. By not sealing the pocket shut it can be used for tags. Matt (G) onto (F). Use (H) to trim the end of (F). ADHERE TAB WITHOUT SEALING POCKET Pocket 2 uses all of the same techniques as pocket 1, but in a slightly different formation. Using (I) and (D) fold along the pre-scored markings to create tabs. Insert (I) into the top of the pocket (A) as shown, and seal that edge of the pocket. Matt (J) onto (I). Insert tab (D) into the open end of the pocket (A) and adhere without sealing closed the pocket itself. Matt a penny on to (E) and then on to (D) as previous. 8. Matt (L) and (M) onto K as shown. Place (N) into position and mark holes with a pencil. Then punch out the holes and adhere ringbinder to K with the brads (O)

8 Instructions Fold (Q) along the pre-scored lines and cut out the corners. Use to form a pocket matted onto (P) as shown. Note: (P) and (K) have not been joined yet. Picture for illustration only. 10. Glue (P) and (K) together using strong glue, as shown in the diagram. Note: (P) and (K) in this picture are for illustration only. 11. Matt (R) onto the front of (P). Create pocket with (S), technique as in (9), and matt onto (R). Matt (T) onto (S). Matt (U) onto (T). Matt (E) onto (U)

9 Instructions Thread (W) through (V) to form a rucksack hook as shown. Adhere the ends of the ribbon down. Thread (X) (x2) through (V) in the same way, leaving the ends hang down to form rucksack handles. Tape the bottom ends of (X) over the edge of (V), by folding them over and leaving enough slack to give the appearance of rucksack handles. 13. Adhere (V) to (K) as shown, using double sided tape. 14. Using the remaining accessories create a rosette, name tag and embellishment (Z), attached to the handle of your mini ruck sack album. The rosette is made by folding (Y) backwards and forwards, glueing the 2 ends and forming into a circle. (C1) is then glued either side of the rosette Create your remaining 2 pockets in your own style using the remaining materials. 8
