Roswell is rich in historic and cultural attractions and beautiful natural settings along the Chattahoochee River. Throughout the city you ll find shops, restaurants and sidewalk cafes that await your discovery as you enjoy the Holidays in Roswell, Georgia. The Southern Trilogy Homes (Barrington Hall, Bulloch Hall, and Smith Plantation) will be dressed in seasonal splendor and open for daily tours as well as a special candlelight tour. Don t miss the opportunity to visit a real reindeer at the Chattahoochee Nature Center, and then come see the Moose is Loose topsey-turvey tree at the Roswell Visitors Center (don t forget your camera for a unique family photo). Georgia Ensemble Theatre s A Taffeta Christmas, performances of The Nutcracker, and A Christmas Carol are just a few of the entertainment options you will enjoy. Special Holiday Open Houses in the historic shopping district, Santa sightings, art gallery happenings, caroling, high tea, performances at Roswell Cultural Arts Center, and so much more fill the calendar. 2 C V B Historic Roswell CVB Tellabration part of a world-wide Storytelling Event November 16 Roswell Adult Recreation Center on Grimes Bridge Road 7:30 p.m.; $5 per person Storytelling is a performance art, but it is also a tool used by every race, culture, religion, and applies to all ages. Through stories we pass along traditions, document out families and build respect and understanding. Once a year the storytelling community comes together to celebrate Tellabration! Join us as tellers B.J. Abraham, Frank Causey, Brad Corbin and Natalie Jones join Emcee Ron Kemp to captivate the audience with a variety of tales. CVB Social Media The CVB team has been working to update our Facebook information as well as other social media tools. Be sure to check us out at Celebrate with Roswell Historical Society On election day, November 6, Roswell Historical Society invites you to Elect to Celebrate with RHS. Join them for a house-warming reception and theatre night in their new office that adjoins the Archives Library. Tickets are $20 each and if you are a season ticket holder, RHS will donate your ticket to The Drake House th Roswell Wedding Showcase January 13 2:00 5:00 P.M. This year, the Roswell Tourism Team has joined forces with the Roswell Business Alliance to produce the Official Guide To Roswell. Once again, the publication is a collaborative effort with Great Southern Publishers. This guide is an essential tool used by the CVB to promote and market our area and by the Roswell Business Alliance as they work to build a strong business community in Roswell. Visual Artists Colors Festival of Arts is now accepting applications 23rd Annual Colors Festival of Arts Saturday and Sunday May 11 & 12, 2013 (Mother s Day Weekend) 10am 6pm Roswell, GA Historic Town Square Deadline: January 31, 2013 Applications are available at then click on Major Festivals icon and see the May Colors Festival of Arts for information, video and an application. Just a bit of trivia Inflation hits the Tooth Fairy: According to a new survey by Visa, (source USA Today), kids found an average $3 per tooth under their pillows (some reported receiving as much as $20 per tooth). Reportedly this is up by 15% over last year. Child behavior specialists warn that this trend may not be a good one as it is adverse to children learning to earn things and to appreciate the value of items. And to think, my children got at the most $1 but a lot of fairy dust (glitter) was left on their pillows.
