1 Chickahominy Lodge No. 286 A.F. & A. M. Trestleboard Message From The Master Brethren, Our June meeting began with a delicious meal by RW Charlie and his wife Althea and a big thank you to all who participated in serving and cleanup! All business was conducted, correspondence read, and bills paid. We continued on to a petition and two applications being read for the second reading with positive outcome on all. A very exciting time at Chickahominy No. 286 as we continue to grow in numbers! Chickahominy Lodge No. 286 A.F. & A. M. Chartered February 16, 1905 Trestleboard July, 2016 With this growth comes much work and the brethren have been working very hard at work refining their skills. They've been meeting Wednesday's for Warden certificate training and I would like to recognize our officers and Wor. Ted Holm for all the hard work and instruction that have enabled us to perform the necessary degree work to advance these candidates. Presentations included Worshipful Kent Brinkley on the Masonic Apron which was very interesting and informative. He also presented RW Charlie Hinson with a Grand Lodge Certificate recognizing him for completing the fourth Masonic Leadership Correspondence Course. Congratulations RW Charlie and thank you for setting the good example! RW Cleve Wright was called to the East to give an update on his annual Blood Drive successes. While we had him cornered RW Steve Anderson presented him with the Seymour Jonas Levy Award for his very tireless work as our Lodge Blood Coordinator! I then presented RW Cleve with his 25 year Masonic service pin! Congratulations and thanks to RW Cleve for all he does! It is staggering to look at the past month in review and all the work we as a Lodge have completed! We wrapped up E. TYREE MOUNTCASTLE 57TH DISTRICT MASONIC SCHOOL on 16 June 2016 at Williamsburg No. 6 with a very interesting presentation by Wor Kent Brinkley. I have the presentation in soft copy if you re interested. P.O. Box Richmond Road Toano, VA Stated Communication: 2 nd Tuesday, 7:30 P.M. Chickahominy had 112 guests for the monthly Breakfast and hosted the Cub Scouts that day. Truly a courteous and well behaved group of youngsters! We hope they visit again soon. (Continued on next page) Page 1 of 6
2 Message From The Master cont d Sickness and distress included; RW Jerry Burks-upcoming hip replacement, Wor. Bo Bohannon s wife Vonnie as she continues to recover, Wor. Johnny Flannagan recovering from blood clot, and RW Bob Parke s wife who has begun a low dose of chemo-therapy. Please keep all of these brethren and their families in your thoughts and prayers. Wor. Joe Rose has reported that Royal Construction will be starting to replace the front door, front windows and side (shed) door and windows. This will occur as soon as the weather permits, hopefully in mid-july. There will be some minor disruption but well worth the effort. More to follow. The Chickahominy Roadrunners went to Warwick Lodge and I understand had a great time! Please visit the Chickahominy No. 286 website for future RR events and plan to attend what you re able. Wor. Bo Bohannon reported on MAHOVA, and he has since been up to visit and spoke to Brother Sean Watterson who expressed his appreciation to Chickahominy for all of your donations! Thank you for supporting this very important endeavor. What an awesome night our District 57 had in welcoming Most Worshipful James Edward Litten, 171 st Grand Master of Masons in Virginia at his official visit. The event was held at Mann Page in Providence Forge and what a great night it was! The event was packed, we had great food and fellowship and our very own District Deputy Grand Master Steven Ware Anderson presided over the event. We completed June 2016 with Raising 2 Master Mason's this week! I know it was a full week but the degree teams, coaches, mentors and participants worked tirelessly to finish strong! Thank you to all for your hard work and commitment! Chickahominy Lodge No. 286 is setting a great example! And it is the brethren who make it all happen! Thanks to everyone who was able to assist at the Child ID last weekend! We had 44 kids at last count! Your assistance and the assistance of your ladies was most appreciated! I would be remiss if I didn't recognize Brother Bob Cosby, who set up the ID and pulled double duty also working his Tae Kwon Do demonstrations at the same time! Well done!
