1 Message From The Master Brethren; 2016 was a very successful year for Chickahominy No We closed the year with Brother Jeff Vinson reciting his Master Mason Catechism during a Called Communication on December 20, Chickahominy Lodge No. 286 A.F. & A. M. Chartered February 16, 1905 Trestleboard January, 2017 We have had numerous successes this past year. We have been awarded the Hillman Award, Morlock Award, Stokes and Levy Awards. Let s not forget to mention the Grand Master s Official Visit to our March Stated. We also demonstrated our abilities to put on an exceptional degree program that I hope left each candidate with a lasting memory of their Initiation, Passing and Raising. Thanks, Worshipful Scott for your leadership. Now we are in 2017 and as your Master I hope we continue the successes we have had in the past years. I am planning on 2017 being as successful and busy as we have been in the past. First, we have two Master Masons to cite their Master Mason Catechisms, one Fellow Craft to cite their Catechism and be raised to Master Mason, and two Entered Apprentices to cite their Catechism and be passed to Fellow Craft. We may have one petition to read at January s Stated. The significance of these Degrees is that when completed, they will put Chickahominy No. 286 over 100 members. What a great accomplishment! Training is my main priority for my year. Brethren, our experienced Degree Team needs new members. We need to give them a break or at least take some of the burden off them. I am encouraging everyone to come to training and learn something new and encourage others who want to learn. You being there means a lot just showing your support for the others. The Master Mason s degree, 2 nd part is where we need the help now. We need Fellowcrafts, both primary and backups. In other areas, we need coaches, and anyone wanting to learn a Lecture. I also encourage you to attend our District School held at different lodges in the 57 th District on the first Monday each month, you might be surprised what you might learn. P.O. Box Richmond Road Toano, VA Stated Communication: 2 nd Tuesday, 7:30 P.M. On the fourth Monday of each month we will be conducting Lodge Training Night. We will have an agenda so not to waste time and to accomplish what we set out to do. I promise it will not be a waste of your time. So, mark your calendar for this new monthly lodge event.
