1 Vaune Pierce Bubbling Brook St. Moorpark, CA I have always loved the look of heirloom clothes: smocking, embroidery and French hand sewing. I started with smocking over 20 years ago and have been stitching ever since. I have 2 boys and 2 girls, and smocked for them all when they were little. I joined Smocking Arts Guild of America in 1988 and have been able to take advantage of their education oportunities. As I took more classes, I became interested in different forms of embroidery. fell in love with Madeira Embroidery, and have been very fortunate to have traveled to Madeira twice to take lessons at the Imperial Bordados. Happy Stitching! One of the trips included a stop in Scotland to take a class on Ayrshire whitework from the renowned Bunny Bryson. I started teaching smocking, embroidery, and construction over 20 years ago. My motto is made not Homemade - I want my garments to look like they have been purchased at a children s boutique. I am an engineer by trade, so when I am teaching, I try to teach you not just How but also Why. If you know why you do something, it is easier to know if you can alter or change the technique you are working on. I teaches classes and seminars around the country. I have taught at numerous Vaune SAGA conventions, Martha Pullen School of Art Fashion, Sewing and the Stitchery Expo in Puyallup, WA. I am a contributing editor for Sew Beautiful and Creative Needle, as well as starting my pattern line, Classic Couture. I am available to teach for groups and guilds, as well as private individuals. I have a wide variety of classes and I am always happy to create a class for your group. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about classes, fees, or schedule availability.
