1 LINDA WIGGINS Linda s love of fabric started when she was 5 years old. She was whisked away to live in foreign countries with her family at a young age and only saw her grandparents once a year. Her paternal grandmother and entire family were quilters. When she would get to visit, they always had a quilt on the rack hanging from the ceiling, quilts to sleep under on a pallet on the floor, never had idle hands and always let her take a treasure trove of fabric scraps with her when she left. Not knowing what to do with them, she would spend hours sorting them by color, design or size. It was not until 1977 that she came to realize what you could do with scraps of fabric. Her first quilt was a log cabin made with a mixture of cotton and polyester fabrics, strips marked with a ball point ink pen and a yardstick, and cut with scissors the quilt about which she now says I can show it to you, but then I have to kill you! Regardless, she was hooked. She began to take classes wherever she could find them Quilt Shops, GSQA, Paducah, Houston and locally. The classes were always enlightening, but they never seemed to be as comprehensive as she wanted. Through the years, she has developed classes that she felt that she needed when she was starting to quilt, and now is a highly sought-after beginner and intermediate teacher. She is a Marion Maerke Award Winner of the Gulf States Quilting Association, a charter member of The Giving Quilt (an organization that

2 promotes providing quilts for those in need of comfort and care), an active member of the Quilts Of Valor, has served in various positions in her local quilt guilds, published an article in Quilts and Other Comforts, and keeps promising to write five books on quilting as part of her bucket list!! Linda s belief that it should be fun shows up in her teaching style and relaxed classroom atmosphere. She loves to do classes that have a lot of stitching time and wants her students to go home with more than a tiny block to show for their efforts. Her nurturing style has resulted in hundreds of new quilters in the area and she welcomes every opportunity to learn as much from her students as they do from her.

Beginners will be amazed at the results when you do not have to match seams or sew straight lines! Advanced quilters will delight in the fast and easy construction! Most students will complete this quilt in class! This dynamic quilt can be made in the American flag colors of Red, White and Blue, or be done in collegiate colors such as purple, gold and white. Even an NFL version in black and gold and whites will be offered! Enjoy a busy and productive 2 days making this fabulous quilt while learning new techniques, tips and terminologies! Pre-cutting required.
