Follow the instructions below to prepare for one or the other before coming to class. We will be working on the blocks in class. For the full size quilt: Make 20 Flower blocks Make 12 Single Irish Chain blocks Make 14 pieced side-setting triangles Make 4 pieced corner triangles For the table runner: Make 4 Flower blocks Make 6 pieced side-setting triangles Make 4 pieced corner triangles Make the flower blocks four at a time from five colors: yellow, purple, pink, red, and orange or from one just color for the table runner. Choose a dark print and a medium print for each of the five color families. Make four blocks from each dark/medium combination. Choose four value gradations of green or turquoise for the Irish Chain blocks and side-setting triangles. Materials for the full-sized quilt: 2 1/2 yards of very dark green for side-setting triangles, borders, and binding 1 5/8 yards of white print for block piecing 1 5/8 yard of multicolor print for middle border 1 yard of light green for block piecing and side-setting triangles 3/4 yard of medium green for block piecing and side-setting triangles 1/2 yard of dark green for block piecing and side-setting triangles 3/8 yard of leaf green for block piecing 1

Bring your machine's manual and assorted tools, 1/4'' presser foot and standard presser foot. Slide-on worktable for your sewing machine if you have one. 100% cotton threads in a neutral gray, tan, or cream and a dark that coordinates with your fabrics 12'' x 18'' or larger rotary mat and rotary cutter with a sharp blade. 6 x 12 or 6 x 18 ruler 6'' or 8 Bias Square, Bloc-Loc, or other similar square trim-up ruler with a diagonal line. This will be used for trimming down half-square triangle units. Seam ripper, thread snips and other regular sewing supplies. 5
