Fees: Exhibitor fee for Adults is $5.00 Entry Fee for Adult classes is.40 cents per exhibit (including GST) Exhibitor fee for Juniors (16 years & under) is $1.00 No entry fees for Junior classes. Juniors (16 years & under) may exhibit in any adult class by paying the Adult Exhibitor Fee and entry fees. 2. Entry Forms can be printed from the Dauphin Agricultural Society website or picked up from Ernestine Chersak. Entry tags may be obtained from Ernestine Chersak ,, prior to the week of the fair. 3. Completed entry forms, tags, all fees and exhibits must be received by 7.00pm Wednesday, June 25, THIS RULE WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED. Office hours at the Exhibit hall on Wednesday, June 25 will be from 8:00 am to 7:00pm. Cheques should be made to the Dauphin Agricultural Society. Entry form must be COMPLETELY filled out or will be disqualified!! There will be no refunds. Exhibits not entered on the entry forms will not be displayed. There are no substitutions for classes entered.

3 4. Exhibitors must have their Entry Forms and Tags properly marked with Class # & Description, corresponding to the prize list. All exhibits, including schoolwork, must be tagged before placement in the hall. Directors will not make corrections. Improperly filled out exhibits will not be displayed. 5. Exhibits will be received at the Hall on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 from 8:00am to 7:00pm sharp. No exhibits will be accepted after this time. No exhibits by mail will be accepted. 6. An exhibitor may make only one entry per class. 7. No articles previously exhibited in the Dauphin Fair will be eligible to compete again, in any class. 8. No mixes, commercial fillings or frozen dough shall be used except where stated. Fresh ingredients should be used for best results. 9. Baking, in all sections, is to be removed from pans and exhibited in clear plastic bags, on firm trays or plates where necessary. Tags to be on the outside of bags. Pies may be left in pie plates. Exhibits in plastic wrap will not be accepted for competition. 10. Mounting is required for all photos, all mounting (on poster board, manilla tag, etc.) must be done before articles are entered for judging. The mounting techniques will be considered in judging. Photos are not to have captions unless otherwise stated. 11. All entries must be the work of, or produced by, the Exhibitor. 12. All articles are to be clean and show no sign of wear. Plants/flowers with infestations will not be exhibited. 13. Every care is taken to protect exhibits, but the Society will not be responsible for loss or damage. 14. Schoolwork will be judged June 26, from 9 am to 12 pm. Home Living judging will begin at 8:00 pm on Wednesday, June 25 and continue at 9:00am on Thursday until completed. No one is allowed in the Exhibit Hall area until judging is complete. The Committee will place all Entries. 15. Prizes in all Adult classes are: 1 st - $5.00; 2 nd - $4.00; 3 rd - $3.00; except where noted. 16. Prizes in all Junior classes are: 1 st - $3.00; 2 nd - $2.50; 3 rd - $2.00; except where noted. 17. Prizes for "aggregate" awards shall be certificate/token only, except where noted. For Specials requiring aggregate points the system will be 5,3, Judges decisions will be final. 19. Special award presentations will be made on Saturday afternoon, June 28, Pickup of Exhibits will be between 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm on Saturday, June 28, 2014, the last day of the Fair. The Society is not responsible for articles left at the Hall after 7:00 pm on Saturday, June 28, If unable to be present, exhibitors must arrange to have items picked up. Exhibits cannot be taken before 6:00pm. 21. The right to alter, interpret, amend, add to or cancel any of these rules is reserved by the Home Living Directors whose decision will be final. 22. Flowers a bouquet is what you can hold in your hand. Name variety where possible. 23. Houseplants entries must have been property of the exhibitor for at least eight weeks, and be well rooted. 24. Preserves each entry shall consist of one jar, minimum 4oz./125 ml in allclasses except where stated otherwise. According to Judging Standards, recyclable jars will be disqualified. No freezer or sugarless jams or jellies. Please label jars with date of preserving and contents. 25. Embroidery all pictures and samplers must be ready to hang 26. photography All entries to consist of one photo no larger than 4'' x 6'' unless otherwise specified, Enlargements to be at least 5'' x 7''. Computer enhanced photos allowed only in class specific. 27. Juniors all baking is to be removed from pans and exhibited in clear plastic bags on firm trays/plates where necessary. Tags must be on outside of plastic bags. No Saran or other plastic wrap allowed. Half cakes of 8'' x8'' All collections maximum size 18'' x 20''. 28. Check throughout the book for Specials. 5 BAKING CONTESTS Country Fair baking contests: The following terms and conditions apply to all the Country Fair Baking Contests which are listed below. Please conform to these rules as they will ensure that your entry will be judged at our fair. 1. All entrants into the contests must submit entries that were made using the sponsor's product. 2. A product label must accompany each entry, as proof of purchase. 3. Name and address must be submitted with each winning entry. 4. All first place winners must submit recipe, proof of purchase, photograph and signed release form giving permission to the sponsors for the use of the winner's name, recipe and /or photograph in any other advertising or publicity without payment. 5. The fairs will forward signed release forms, recipes and photo for the first place winners, along with a list of all the names and addresses for 2 nd place winners. Note: First place winning recipes received by Country Fair Contests will be automatically entered into a national contest. National Level Prize: 1 st - $100 Gift Certificate Bernardin guidelines: To qualify for competition, all entries must be submitted in mason jars with properly sealed two-piece metal SNAP lids. (regular gold BERNARDIN SNAP lids and colorful Bernardin Collection) Elite SNAP lids are equally acceptable for competition. Unsealed jars, items with lug caps or wax seal are unacceptable. Judges select winner based on creativity, quality of home canned product, perceived value & appropriateness of presentation. Judging will be based on appearance, taste, texture and recipe creativity. Competition is open to all quilt exhibitors. 2. The judging criteria are included in the Judging Standards Fair Book. 3. Quilts may be entered in three categories: hand quilted self-guided (domestic/mid arm) track (mid/long arm) The entry must be completely quilted by the person submitting the quilt. No commercial quilting will be allowed (machine quilted by someone other than the exhibitor).

9 4. Quilts must have an appropriate title and give appropriate credit to pattern designer if not original. 5. Quilts must be clean; any with stains and/or markings; pet hair will not be accepted. 6. Quilts must have a perimeter of at least 240 inches (590 sm) to be considered for the competition. 7. A fabric quilt label must be attached to the bottom right corner on the backside of their quilt. Labels must be covered at all judging levels. 8. Quilts must be delivered/packaged in a durable and labelled clear plastic bag for handling. 9. Pre-stamped and Pre-cut Quilt Kits are not allowed to enter; however Block-of-the Month Quilts are eligible for the competition. 10. Quilters will sign a release form when the quilt is entered at the local event. 11. A Judges Score Sheet will be distributed to all Societies, which must be used to judge the quilts. Any quilt not scoring 70 or more points will not qualify for the District or Provincial Competition. 12. Each Society may select six quilts (2 hand quilted, 2 self-guided and 2 track) at their Fair to participate in the District Competition. Up to a total of six quilts will be chosen at the District Competition to go on to the Provincial Competition. 13. Exhibitors may enter more than one quilt in this competition. However, they may only have one hand and one machine quilt advance to the Provincial Competition. 14. Any quilt may be entered in competition at as many Fairs as the exhibitor wishes. However, it may only represent the Society where it was first entered in the Provincial Competition and won. The exhibitor must advise Societies at the time of entry if their quilt is a winner at a previous fair. 15. If an exhibitor does not wish to participate in the Provincial Competition, the runner-up quilt with a score higher than 70 will be selected to represent the society in the District Competition. 16. At the district level prize monies will be awarded for the top quilts in each category. At the provincial finals, there will be prize monies available in the Hand Quilted, Self-guided and Computer Aided Categories. 17. All District Winners/Provincial Entries will be held for display at the Provincial Quilt finals as well as the Red River Exhibition 2015 after which the quilts will be returned to the quilters. 18. MAAS will take the utmost care of the quilts; however, quilt owners are responsible for insuring their own quilts if they so choose. The sponsors, societies and M.A.A.S. will not be liable for damage or loss. 19.
