3 committee news, challenges, charities APRIL BLOCK OF THE MONTH This is the last month for the blocks. You will find the block design on the ESQG website home page. Wouldn t it be great to have 100% participation? We can do it! Remember, the more blocks you submit, the more chances you have to win. Fran Visicaro, Coleen Groenendaal, Chairpersons 2015 Raffle Quilt Thanks to all members who attended the assembly workshop on April 18! There were about 12 Guild members busy cutting sashings, sewing blocks into rows and pressing completed sections. The quilt top was almost completed. Barbara Campbell and Jean Stubaus finished the top on Monday and Barbara added the outside mitered borders. The quilt measures 96 x 106 (king size). Jean Stubaus, Chairperson Playing with a Full Deck Challenge The challenge is due at the June 9 meeting. Quilts will be displayed and the winners will be announced. Karen Anderson, Chairperson Treasurer s Report April, 2015 Beginning Balance: $ Income: $50.50 Expenses: $ Ending Balance: $ Sue DeCamp, Treasurer Enchanted Makeovers Sacred Sewing Room Vicky Stankevicz, Chairperson Volunteers are needed to share simple sewing skills with women for a short term of instruction. 4 Activities and Notices Wrap up the Guild year as an active member. We have many projects for your involvement. Summertime means the Warren Co. Farmer s Fair Saturday, July 25 to Saturday, August 1 Setup, Friday, July 24 Come to the fair! Catch up with fellow ESQG members, enter a quilt in the show, take advantage of the boutique to sell your hand sewn items, bring your sewing projects to complete in our booth and by all means, enjoy the fair! You ll have a FREE PASS! The Volunteer Sign Up Sheet can be viewed on our website. Take a look at the days yet to be filled. Volunteers will help in both the booth, selling our 2015 Raffle Quilt tickets and in our boutique. Please be sure to sign up by the June meeting. Your entry pass and parking pass will be mailed to you in July. The Quilt Entry Forms are also available on the site. Just complete the form online or print it out and send to Kathy Daniels. We are looking for 40 quilts to show between all the participating guilds. Entry deadline is July 17. The fair boutique will be open again this year. Any member is welcome to submit their hand sewn items for sale. Remember 10% goes back to the Guild. If you are placing items in the boutique we ask that you volunteer to work the booth. Street Signs: Kathy Daniels will ask each member to take one or two signs to place in a hot spot in their community. A few members will also be asked to place five to ten signs on majors highways in the area. Quilt Entry: Theresa Schoonover and Cindy will accept entries from any member in good standing (membership fees paid and working participation in the quilt show).
