1 28 th Annual Viewer s Choice Quilt Show Rules Any individual or group is eligible and encouraged to participate. 1. Each entry must have a label with your name and the quilts title. The carrying bag (a pillow case is ideal) labeled with your name, the quilt s title and contact phone number clearly marked. Each entry should have a typed or neatly printed description firmly attached, please use the second page of the registration form. 2. Large quilts, with lengths greater than 94 inches should bring a white sheet with your name on it. The sheet will be put on the floor beneath the quilt to keep it clean. Please be aware the show is hung using clothespins and rope. 3. Quilts will not be accepted without pre-registration. Entry is to be three quilted layers (top, batting, and backing). 5. Viewer Choice Categories are as follows: BED QUILTS larger than 42 X 72 over a total of 104 inches (width + length) LARGE WALL QUILT less than 42 X 72 under a total of 104 inches (width + length) SMALL & MINI QUILTS UNDER less than 30 x 30 total of All entries, once received by HCSV, will be retained for the duration of the show. You may not pick up your quilt before the show is taken down. The quilts will be available for pick up on Sunday after 4:30 pm and the following week. 7. A registration fee of $15.00 is charged for up to six entries including Cold Spring Brewery Challenge (See separate flyer). Please make all checks payable to Historic Cold Spring Village. All paid participants in the quilt show will receive a one day free admission to the Village and are invited to the Awards Breakfast held Sunday morning at 9:00 am at the Cold Spring Grange Restaurant. 8. Your quilt, although carefully guarded, is entered into the Cape May Quilt Show at your own risk. 2 February 14, 2018 Dear Quilter, Historic Cold Spring Village would like to invite you to participate in the 28 th Annual Cape May Quilt and Fiber Show on Saturday, June 23 th and Sunday, June 24 th, The weekend s events include the Viewer s Choice Quilt Show, lectures featuring Sue Reich author and historian speaking on WWI and WWII quilts, demonstrations, hands-on activities, Quilts of Valor s Old Glory Traveling Quilt Show and other crafts reflective of the 19 th century such as: embroidery, basket making, broom making, crocheting, felting, and knitting. Join other fiber artisans in an exchange of ideas and techniques to recharge your creative self. Consider entering the 28 th Annual Quilt Show displayed in the Welcome Center. This is a great show for quilters of all skill levels. Winners are awarded prizes and ribbons based on the visitor s votes. The 2018 Cold Spring Brewery challenge is a quilted patriotic banner. It was wonderful fun last year. Please see the attached flyer for details. The registration fee entitles you to: 1. Up to six registrations to enter the quilt show including the Cold Spring Brewery Challenge 2. One day s free admission to Historic Cold Spring Village 3. An invitation to the Awards Breakfast held at 9 am on Sunday morning at the Cold Spring Grange Restaurant. Review the attached rules and registration. 7 HISTORIC COLD SPRING VILLAGE and COLD SPRING BREWERY 2018 MINI QUILT CHALLENGE A Patriotic Quilted Banner Sample of a Quilt s of Valor Patriotic Quilted Banner. RULES Flags and banners have rallied groups for thousands of years. From Roman legion banderia to modern shopping banners all are created to lead, inspire and communicate. Color, design and artistry add to a banner s eye catching ability. 1. The Patriotic Quilted banner should be no larger than 18 by The banner may be stitched either by hand or machine and consist of three layers of fabric. 3. Entries are due by June 18 th at the latest. They will be exhibited on June 23 and 24, Entries should have a sewn on label with the name of creator on the back of the quilt. 5. Numbers will be assigned to entries to maintain anonymity of the creator. 6. The entries will be displayed in the brewery using rope and clothes pins. 7. The voting will be done by Viewer s Choice at the Cold Spring Brewery on Saturday. 8. The prize is a $50.00 gift certificate to Cold Spring Brewery. Please attach this to your entry.
