Nov 5 th 7 th In-House Fall Retreat The fall retreat will be Thu, Nov 5 th through Sat Nov 7 th 9am 5pm each day. This is a guild sponsored retreat so there is no cost to the members. Please bring your own lunch and drinks. Please see Nancy Thyson at the next guild meeting to sign up. Nov 9th We will be having our annual UFO reveal and also playing the Farkle game that we played earlier this year. So have your UFO s ready to show and bring three fat quarters to play Farkle. Dec 14th Elaine Stuckey will be hosting our annual Christmas party. Immediate Need - Quilt Show Boutique Chairperson Needed There is an immediate need for a Chairperson for the Quilt Show Boutique! Kathie Latimer is continuing to host Quilt Show Boutique workshops. However, the Guild is desperately in need of a person to chair the Quilt Show Boutique. Please let Lynne Marsh know if it is possible for you to fill this vital role! Lynne_sews@yahoo.com Quilt Show Boutique Workshop (Kathie Latimer) It s time again to start up the Quilt Show Boutique workshops! Kathie Latimer is once again graciously offering her home. The first workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, October 20, 9:30 3:30. There will be coffee and coffee cake in the morning and a light lunch. There are a lot of items left over from last year that are currently in storage, so we are not expecting to need so many items. However, we do want to update and provide some new items. Please let Kathie know if you can attend the workshop. Kathie lives at 7976 Pinnacle Ridge Drive in Manassas, VA. She can be reached at kathie7976@gmail.com. UFO Challenge (Janet Scott) So far 35 UFO projects have been completed leaving 70 more still to be done. Remember the November Guild meeting is the deadline for this year. We still have more surprises in store for those completing their UFO projects so keep on sewing so you can get them done before the deadline. Janet December Holiday Party (Elaine Stuckey) It is that time again to put on your thinking caps, look through your ideas and, maybe, start making your gift for the Exchange! For those of you new to the guild, we do a handmade gift exchange - you bring a gift, you get a gift. The item does not have to be made by you but it must be handmade. If you decide to make a food item, please put FOOD on the outside of the bag. Elaine Stuckey will be handing out bags that measure about 8 x10x 4 inches and your item must fit inside that bag (there is a little extra room outside of the bag up to the handles but, the handles must come together). You do not have to participate in the Exchange to come to the dinner and meeting. The dinner is a pot luck with members with last initial A through L bringing Savory and M through Z bringing Sweet. Paper products and beverages will be supplied by the guild. As is our custom, dinner will be first at 7:00 so the food is hot/cold, then the gift exchange followed by our meeting and installation of 2016 officers. There will be door prizes afterwards which will be available to all attending members. The Stone House Quilter October 2015 Page 3
