The flame class rating of the insulating materials used in the connector housing is V-0. The Mold Stress Test was conducted at 130C. These devices employ insulating materials with properties as tabulated below at the minimum thickness employed in the connector housing, the suitability of the insulating materials based on the documented values shall be determined in the end-use application. Conditions of Acceptability - The following are among the considerations to be made when evaluating the device in the end-use product. Interruption of Current 1. These devices are unsuitable for current interruption, except in a specific application. The product is only suitable for interrupting the flow of current by connecting or disconnecting the mating connector, when employing machined contacts power and signal at reduced ratings and only when employing 14 AWG at an ac potential of 277 Vac/16A on two Power poles and 48 Vac/2.5A on five signal poles. Current interrupting use at any other current rating or potential will require further evaluation. Overload, Temperature, and Resistance to Arcing tests were performed in a sequence on six samples of mating connectors. This testing does not represent the use of stamped and formed contacts, which would require further evaluation for use in a current interrupting application.
