5 Sunil Iyengar, Director, NEA Office of Research & Analysis Under Sunil s tenure at the National Endowment for the Arts his office has informed the NEA s strategic vision, revised America s largest federal survey of adult involvement in the arts and shaped a trajectory for measuring the impact of arts participation across lifespans. Formerly a writer, Sunil has contributed to a host of publications in the biomedical research,medical device and pharmaceutical industries. He also is a poet, and he has written book reviews for the Washington Post, The New York Times and San Francisco Chronicle, to name a few. Peter Joshua Burroughs Tenor & Spanish Dancer A versatile singing actor, Peter s repertoire encompasses opera, oratorio, musical theatre, Shakespeare, traditional art song recital, zarzuela and the dance music of Latin America. He debuted in 1999 with The Washington Opera and has performed with the company extensively. He is one of AFTA s 12 teaching artists, and he also leads outreach programs for the Opera and Spanish Dance Society. Marla Bush Flamenco & Spanish Dancer A veteran performer with the Spanish Dance Society and the Raquel Peña dance troupe, Marla s dance venues range from adult day care centers to the Kennedy Center professionally. At the Administration for Community Living (formerly AoA), she has developed projects with art therapy associations for elders. She co-leads La Movida with Peter Burroughs as one of AFTA s teaching artists. ARRIVAL: Parking is available on P Street between 16th and 17th, one block from the Carnegie Institution for Science.
