2 SWR SM 900 or SWR 400 is preferred. Trace Elliot, Ampeg, Eden or Mesa Boogie are fine as long as they are in good condition, have a flexible EQ section and provide a minimum of 400 watts of clean power. No Peavey, No Galien. Krueger, please. Speaker(s): A pair of Eden 2-10 XLT s are preferred. Alternatives might be: Eden 4-10 XLT, SWR Goliath 4-10 or a pair of 2-10 cabs, Trace Elliot or EV full range speaker system. Other requirements: 1 instrument cable, minimum of 18 feet long. 1 sturdy bass/guitar stand. GUITAR Amplifier: Fender Hot Rod Deluxe 1x12 or Fender Hot Rod Deville 2x12 or 4x10 (with footswitch if possible). A Marshall JTM 60 Series or Roland JC would do as an alternative. Amp must have reverb and reverb must work. Please make sure that the cabinets are not loaded with JBL or Altec speakers. General Amplifier Requirement: 40 watts Other requirements: 1 instrument cable, minimum of 10 feet long. 1 sturdy guitar stand. 1 extra power outlet, located in close proximity to amplifier (for guitarists effects). 5 PA/Technical Rider (Current as of 2003) FRONT OF HOUSE CONSOLE House console with a minimum of 32 input channels set up in a location where the operator has a clear, unobstructed view of the stage. If other performers or audio-visual presentations are to be using the same system a 40 channel console may be needed. Each console input should have input level trim, 48 volt phantom power, 3 or 4-band EQ and at least 3 auxillary sends. Preferred consoles are Ramsa, Soundcraft, Allen & Heath or Yamaha. Other brands of consoles are acceptable provided that they have the required features and are well maintained and in good working order. FRONT OF HOUSE OUTBOARD EQUIPMENT 1/3 octave graphic EQ for house mono/stereo output Limiter/compressors on the main outputs. 3 effects units 2 reverbs one delay Preferred combination is a pair of reverbs such as Yamaha SPX90/SPX900, Lexicon PCM70 or 80 A digital delay such as a Lexicon PCM 42, Roland (SDE 1000 or 3000), Yamaha DL1500 or similar. A good quality CD player for incidental playback music. HOUSE SPEAKER SYSTEM A 2 or 3 way actively crossed over system with subwoofers If speakers have to be stacked on sound wings, please try to use risers tall enough to ensure even coverage. Preferred speaker systems are Turbosound TMS-3, TMS-4, JBL Concert Series, EV X-Ray or Meyer. However any well designed professional quality concert level speaker system in good working order is acceptable. Stereo systems are fine, but mono is perfectly okay as long as the entire audience is covered evenly. System should include suitable crossover/processors and be powered with appropriate professional quality amplifiers. 5

6 MONITOR CONSOLE, OUTBOARD & WIRELESS MICS Monitor console with a minimum of 24 inputs, capable of at least 8 discreet monitor mixes set up adjacent to one side of the stage 1/3 octave equalizers. These equalizers should be inserted in the signal path in such a way that adjustments to output EQ can be heard in the cue wedge. 1 simple digital reverb for vocal monitors. Yamaha SPX 90 or similar. 4 handheld wireless units, Hyper or Supercardiod type. Please see to it that there are fresh batteries in each of these mics at the start of the show and spares on hand. MONITOR SPEAKERS 2-way floor wedges. Compact, low profile, 15, high output biamplified wedges such as EAW, Turbosound, JBL, or EV are preferred. Passive wedges are acceptable provided they are loaded with professional quality components (JBL, TAD, EV, etc...) and are driven with sufficient amplifier power. PRESENTATION In addition to maintaining a high standard of quality as concerns technical specifications, it is our intent to make a clean, professional presentation wherever we perform. House console area should be covered on three sides with black Pipe and Drape. The same applies to exposed areas of the monitor console. Sound and Stage crew should look clean, neat, and well groomed and wear jacket and tie during performance. Absolutely NO jeans. LIGHTING SUGGESTION Please note, the list below is merely a suggestion. Depending on client s vision, theme and budget, the band is flexible as long as there s sufficient lights for the stage. 6
