1 GCSE Ceramics Exam Fragments 2018 After school Ceramics sessions run after school every Wednesday in E27 with CTE Apx Total number of Ceramics lessons: (10 doubles / 10 singles) Make sure you organise your work in your folder using blu tac, adding relevant titles and annotations, as you complete it. Week Lessons Classwork Independent Study/Homework. Extension Work 1A 4/1 Initial intro and rough mind map of ideas. Review the Exam Paper content Use chrome books to research images to support initial ideas Create a neat / illustrated mind map of initial ideas using the exam paper to help. (see my pinterest board Creative Mind Maps for ideas) Print out secondary source images to related to mind map Photograph relevant objects, related to mind map 2B 8/1 MINIMUM OF 1 FOSSIL CLAY TILE Clay fossil work should have an organic shape, and techniques should include; White slip, scrafitto, relief, stencil with slip, skulls features imprinted (remember to initial the back) MINIMUM OF 2 QUALITY fossil/natural form MONOPRINTS. On newsprint and/or brown paper HOMEWORK (DUE Friday 12 TH ) 1. PRINT OUT YOUR CLAY FOSSIL TILES AND ANNOTATE THOROUGHLY 2. FIND MY PINTEREST BOARD FOSSIL INSPIRED CERAMICS AND PRINT OUT A RANGE OF EXAMPLES TO FILL AN A3 PAGE. PLEASE ALSO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE NAMES OF THE ARTISTS. (MY EXTENSION TASK; COMPLETE A RESPONSE TOP ONE OF THE PINTEREST IMAGES, IN YOUR OWN CHOICE OF MEDIA.

Ensure that you; Use a range of man made and natural surfaces Include collograph AND monoprints Mount prints up as a block in your sketchbook (see my example) Print out photos of your clay fragments in colour YOU WILL NEED THESE IN THE LESSON SO YOU MUST DO THIS IN ADVANCE Cut photos of your clay samples into shapes to develop into maquettes next lesson 6 x fragments of clay exploring surfaces including; Imprinting man made objects/surfaces Imprinting natural objects/surfaces
3 4B 22/1 Use white and red skip in a variety of ways TAKE PHOTOS OF YOUR CLAY PIECES AS YOU WILL NEED THE PRINTS NEXT WEEK Store clay fragments to use next week Create your maquettes using clay samples tiles Photograph them to print out for HW Explore imprinting natural and manmade objects into porcelain tiles. Oxide porcelain samples and maquette to be glaze-fired, photograph them Complete at least one visual response to a chosen artist image in mixed media. Be ready to discuss how this will be translated into clay/porcelain. Mount up responses alongside artist image and add analysis of image Print out photos of maquettes Decide on a personal direction for your project, based on one of the following 3 possible directions, as discussed; Natural form; Sealife; fish, coral, shells, bones, nature, fossils, butterflies, insects, birds, wings Human form; Dolls, garments, puppets, skeletons, dolls clothes, childhood, Structures; Surfaces, buildings, lighthouse, derelict structures, shipwrecks, tools, objects, archaeology, Select relevant images from my FRAGMENTS EXAM board, and print out (with artists names) and be ready to discuss how you plan to respond to this in mixed media AND porcelain/clay Complete a rough mind map to support chosen direction Complete an additional response to a chosen image on your own choice of media write up analysis of image as a critical study

Ensure all photocopies/stencils are prepared and secondary images printed and tested.
