1 Half Term th Sept. AO2 A01, AO2. A02, AO3 AO1, AO2, AO3 AO1 Students begin Introductory course to experience the main conventions used in graphic design, including text, layout and image. Focused task Typography sheet (including at least 2 artists/designers evaluated) Use sketchbook for collecting inspiring images, recording visits, observational drawing etc. Mini project based on typography. To include further research of relevant designers/design companies. To include a range of materials and presentation techniques. Ongoing sketchbook work Mini project based on layout. To include arrangement of text & image. Look at and record relevant examples from design companies. Take your own photographs, produce illustrations, use appropriate software eg DTP Finishing tasks. Intervention sessions after school for students who are behind. Research 2 design companies and the work of 2 artists/designers whose work you like. Present examples and analyse the work. Introduce restaurant branding project to be researched over holidays. Ongoing sketchbook work See specification sheet / mark criteria
