Don Hebbring Evolution Exterior Concepts for Sana Shuttari Call to Order: Matt Metz called the meeting to order at 3:32 p.m. The roll of the Committee members was called, and a quorum of the members were present. Approval of MOTION: It was moved and seconded to approve the March 13, 2019 Minutes: meeting minutes. Tracy Margel abstained. Review of Submittals: Submittal # install iron cactus Heritage Village IV E. Cinnabar Ave. Sievers This submittal was withdrawn by the homeowner. The homeowner will resubmit in the fall; however, the preliminary review of metal plants was favorable so long as the material is the same and the types are limited. Submittal # Pavers, Landscape Heritage Terrace II E. Topaz Dr. Shuttari
2 MOTION: It was moved and seconded to approve this submittal to install plants, granite and pavers in the front of the house and a line of oleanders in the back of the house along the west side of the yard. There is a stipulation that in the front of the home, shrubs will be planted along the west wall to soften the landscape and give the landscape some height. The tree to be planted on the west side of the driveway can be 10 from the west wall if using a smaller tree. Both can be submitted for consideration at the staff level. Front - the current driveway will remain. Landscape rock, granite in charcoal gray will be added in the planting bed at the front door, the center of the front garden bed and in the garden bed nearest the exterior wall in the area near the driveway. A walkway is being created with Belgard Rio blend pavers which starts curbside along the outside of the driveway. This paver walkway will continue to the front door and past the front of the home, around the corner to the east side of the house. From the driveway, the walkway will continue to the back and meet the outside corner of the garage and continue further back to the side RV gate and extend to just before the property line wall with room to plant along the property line. The small garden bed at the front right side of the property will end in a straight edge creating extra parking space(s) behind the landscape. Table mesa brown rip rap will create a scalloped edge around the garden beds to promote drainage. All granite used is.5" -.75" screened. Approved Plants - From left to right, elephant plants, fire stick, giant Hesperaloe, golden barrel and yellow oleander will be planted. To the right of the driveway, ocotillo, regal mist deer grass and white lantana will be planted. In the rear of the house, the homeowners are creating a privacy wall along the Via Linda side of the property with 7 oleander plants. Resubmittal # doors, 3 windows Tierra Vista E. Caron St. Arnlund MOTION: It was moved and seconded to approve the application to install 2 doors and 3 windows. An 8' x 5' picture window will be removed in the front of the home and an 8' x 8' fully opening glass multi-panel door without grids in oil rubbed bronze will be installed in the which opens onto the courtyard. Only the bottom of the pop-out will be removed for this size door. The nearby 5' x 5' window will be removed and replace it with a 5' x 6' clear glass pop in window with a 1.25" reveal, without grids. The homeowner states the 5 x 6 window will not affect the pop-outs. The 3rd floor window at the top will be replaced with like for like except the new window will not have grids. The 3' x 7' front door and 2' x 5' sidelight will be replaced with a 4' x 7.5' full glass entry door and matching 2' x 7.5' sidelight in oil rubbed bronze without grids.
3 Submittal # tempered glass above pony wall Tierra Vista E. Caron St. Arnlund MOTION: It was moved and seconded to approve this submittal to install tempered glass above pony wall of the front courtyard. Installed will be.5" thick 18" tall tempered glass above the 24" courtyard walls in front of the home. There will be a 2" air gap between the top of the courtyard wall and the bottom of the tempered glass. Oil rubbed bronze claps will be installed to hold the glass in place. Resubmittal # Deck and Steps Mountainview Lake Estates E. Mountainview Lake Dr.#55 Paul MOTION: It was moved and seconded to approve this submittal requesting to construct a deck which will connect to the current patio at the top and continue to the water s edge. The distance of the deck is the length from the patio to the water wall, 12'. 12' x 12' footings with an additional footing on center to support the composite deck. There is a 10' x 12' platform almost midway down the deck with stairs to and from the platform. 2 planters already exist on either side of where the deck will be with stairs that end at the water s edge. The deck will have a power plug built in to access. The deck will have with a 6 step down on the community pool side. The step will end right before the existing Mt. View Lake Estates drain where concrete will be poured level with the bottom of the drainage grade. On the neighbor s side, the deck will start at the resident s outside wall. The planter box there currently is this homeowner s box. 6 steps will come down from the new deck to the property line of the neighbor s house. The lake frontage has been adjusted to 12 from 16. This project would utilize all of the available lakeside property. Resubmittal # Privacy Screen with Door St. Tropez Estates E. Doubletree Ranch Rd. Ayala It was moved and seconded to approve this submittal to install the screen door of the privacy wall in the entry arch without the additional screen around the door. This is approved with the stipulation that the door will be set back 3-4 inches within the arch, the pop-out will remain in tact with the area between filled in, stucco and painted to match the home. Submittal # Pavers, Gate, Metal wall Heritage Court E. Cannon Dr. Beck
4 It was moved and seconded to disapprove this submittal requesting to install pavers, a gate and a metal wall. Each side of the gate must have a stucco wall and there must be a column terminating each side of the wall at the gate. No metal wall can be visible. A plan view of the driveway is also to be submitted. Submittal # Replace 2-gates, add railing Suntree East 9466 N. 105th Place Nation It was moved and seconded to approve this submittal to replace the gates with decorative Spanish scroll work bronze gates and add a decorative fence above the pony wall. All will match the security door. The large side gate to the back of the property is 54" x 74". The entry gate is 63" x 42". The railing is to be installed atop of the pony wall across the front of the property and measures 17' x 12" (including the capped gate column) and will be the same height as the top of the entry gate. Submittal # A/C Screen Unit E. Cochise Dr. Meyer It was moved and seconded to disapprove this a/c screen. The a/c screen structure is to be vertical as the roof structure it is affixed to with no open portions visible from the street or neighboring properties. Open section can be to the east. The a/c screen is to be stuccoed and painted to match the parapet wall. Submittal # pavers, door, landscape, house numbers Catalina E. Bella Vista Dr. Robinson / Ayles It was moved and seconded to disapprove the hardscape (walkway) and landscape. Using hardscape in planter areas is not appropriate. Also, there are too many materials being used that are not in harmony with each other. Higher plant material in front of the pony walls is desired. The front door and the house numbers are approved. Submittal # Replace Roof Mirador 9766 E. Ironwood Dr. Jones
5 It was moved and seconded to disapprove this submittal for these roof tiles as the color and shade are inconsistent with the neighborhood. Please resubmit with something in the family of browns that is more consistent with the house and the neighborhood. Submittal # Add river rock border Catalina E. Bella Vista Dr. Ochoa It was moved and seconded to disapprove this river rock border. River rock is used in landscaping to create some interest but not as a straight edge border. Plants are needed to soften the landscape. No plastic edging is allowed to be visible. Please resubmit a detailed landscape plan. Submittal # replace shared mailbox Haciendas Del Lago 9620 E. Cinnabar Ave. Henderson It was moved and seconded to approve installing this shared mailbox with a new block and stucco structure with locking mailboxes. The new mailbox structure is 42" x 60" x 28". The column base is 30" x 48" x 24". The mailbox dimensions are 12" x 16.5" x 21.5". The unit will have black plaques with brass numbers and will be installed again on the Henderson property and will be painted Dunn Edwards DEW325 Vanilla Shake to match the house. Twonbly It was moved and seconded to approve installing this shared mailbox with a new block and stucco structure with locking mailboxes. The new mailbox structure is 42" x 60" x 28". The unit will have black plaques with brass numbers and will be installed again on the Henderson property and will be painted Dunn Edwards DEW325 Vanilla Shake to match the house. Submittal # Community Painting, Exterior Fencing La Privada E. Via Linda La Privada It was moved and seconded to approve this submittal to paint the buildings and repair/replace and paint the exterior fencing. The buildings will be painted with Dunn - Edwards Palette The body will be painted Dunn - Edwards DEW343 Pearl Necklace. The pop-outs will be painted Dunn - Edwards DEC773 Heather. The section of the buildings with window pop - outs will have the colors reversed. The window popouts will be painted Dunn - Edwards DEW343 Pearl Necklace and the attached brick wall section will be painted Dunn - Edwards DEC773 Heather. The roof wood fascia and front doors will be painted Dunn - Edwards Wood Trim Only: DE6315 Black Pool.
6 The fencing and gates will be all be repaired and/or replaced as needed. They will be painted Dunn - Edwards DEC771 Shaggy Barked. Discussion: Based on a homeowner s request to review guidelines regarding porta potties and the placement; the committee concurred not to require the placement in rear yards only. This is due to the weight of the vehicles, property damage waivers and the need for servicing, it is not considered a viable option to require placement of porta potties in the rear of the homes. Adjourn at 5:20 p.m.
