1 Shapes on Steroids As an introductory project, the objective was to create characters of our own imagination with just shapes alone using only four colors - being purple, red, yellow, and blue for my individual project. -Shapes were used as the base of this project. -The direct selection tool manipulated points to individualize shapes. -The pathfinder tool was utilized to join, merge, and subtract separate shapes.

2 Nao_Robot The objective was to create a robot with a purpose for a fictional company. I decided to create a robot for a simplistic but unique purpose: to be a childhood friend or companion. I utilized bright colors and rounded shapes to create a friendly facade that would appeal to children. -Shapes were the foundation of this project. -The pen tool was used to create many of the shadows and highlights. -Text was required to name and market our product. -The pathfinder unified many shapes.

3 My_Design Poster Through the use of text, alignment, and art mapping, the goal of this project was to create a name tag that represented our personalities through text alone. I used an Alice in Wonderland themed design because it is my favorite fable and helped create a fittingly mysterious design. -Art mapping was used to place symbols and brushes individually created or chosen into the letters. -Text acted as the canvas for this project. -Both the direct selection tool and the pen tool aided with adjusting individual lines and pathways. -Brushes were chosen for the art mapping portion as well as acting outside the characters. -The 3D effect was used to create a unique aspect. -The gradient mesh singlehandedly created the backgound.

4 Scary Movie This project allowed for more creativity than the previous because the limitations were minimal. We were to use an iconic horror movie from decades prior and create a poster for it. While many used films depicting a grotesque creature, I used The Exorcist to be the movie because I desired to base the character off Anneliese Michel - the inspiration for the film. -The pen tool was used to draw out the face. -Shapes were used to create rough outlines in which I later added details to such as the eyes. -Gaussian blur was used to blend colors together and add to the horrific atmosphere. -The pathfinder finalized and merged basic shapes. 5 Top 3 2 Line Logos After learning how to space between letters and lines, the goal of this project was to create simple, refined, and professional two-line logos. HRStudios Music Production -The knowledge of text and how to utilize different effects were vital to this project. -Kerning among other effects were used to space and size the letters. 6 Logo Though the simplest in concept, the Logo project was among the most difficult to complete. Creating a fitting, fictional logo for a company was difficult with such a simple but desired complex design. -The text tool was used to create this project. -The pen tool to create the dragon symbol. IMAGINE TUDIOS -Appropriate spacing and sizing were vital to this project.

7 Pen Tool Self Portrait The reason for this portrait was to demonstrate the expert use of the pen tool to create vector images from a simple photograph. -The main tool used was the pen tool. -Shapes were used to create shadows and differentiate between objects.

8 Minimalism With the principles of minimalsim in mind, I used the iconic picture of a small plant coming to life from a beaten shoe to represent the film Wall-E. -The use of negative space as well as perspective were utilized for this simple design. -The pen tool was used to sketch each item - including the text. - Shapes were manipulated with the pathfinder tool.

9 Minimalism Using the idea of minimalism to portray a selected movie in the simplest terms, I used a singular arcade game to represent Wreck It Ralph. -The pen tool was used to make the arcade. -The ability to utilize negative space and perspective were needed as well. -Finding an appropriate text for this piece was vital. 10 Minimalism The ultimate goal of this project was to create a simple minimalism poster for a selected movie. It was to represent the movie Tangled in simplistic terms in which I used Rapunzel s hair. -The pen tool was used to draw Rapunzel s hair. -The direct selection tool manipulated numerous points to create the illusion of distance and of a silhouette. -Utilizing shapes also helped to create distance in this piece.
