2 1. General Design Considerations 100 STREET SECTONS ll street design shall be in accordance with the Palm Beach County Unified Land Development Code. See particularly rticle 11.E Construction in Muck or Clay reas [ref. rticle 11.E.2..5] When streets or alleys are to be constructed in muck areas, the muck or peat shall be completely removed from the centerline ten (10) feet beyond the edge of the pavement on each side. When gumbo or other plastic clays are encountered, they shall be removed within the roadway area one foot below the subgrade extending horizontally to the outside edge ofthe shoulder area. The design of streets proposed in excessive muck area shall be considered on an individual basis. 3. Dead-End Streets [ref. rticle 11.E.2..14] a. Non-plan Collector Streets Turnaround design for a temporary dead-end shall comply with the "T" turnaround standard as shown in Drawing Turnaround for a permanent dead-end shall comply with the Cul-de-sac standard as shown in Drawing b. Local Streets Turnaround design for a permanent dead-end shall comply with the Cul-de-sac standard as shown in Drawing or Turnaround design for a temporary dead-end shall comply with the "T" turnaround standard as shown in Drawing 100.5E or 100.5F. c. Residential ccess Streets Special turnaround designs for permanent dead-ends on residential access streets are provided to accommodate clustering of units and encourage efficient land use. Deadends may be designed with a Shunt Turnaround (Drawing 100.6C) or Wye Turnaround (Drawing 100.5D). Residential access street dead-ends may also be designed with a standard cul-de-sac, adapted from either Drawing or , or standard ''T'' turnaround, adapted from either Drawing 100.5E or 100.5F. 4. Sodding of Stabilized Shoulders [ref. rticle 11.E.2..16] n streets to be maintained by the County, the developer shall sod with bahia grass in areas which do not abut either a residential lot or a common area planned for building construction

Street Grades [ref. rticle 11.E and 11.E.4.E.2 & 3] Street grades shall be shown on the construction plans by the direction and percent of fall, along with the centerline lineal distance between and elevation of each PV. Longitudinal grading for swale sections and for curb and gutter sections shall be a minimum of 0.30%. 6. Swales Longitudinal grading for swales shall be a minimum of 0.30%. 7. lignment, Tangent, Deflection, Radii [rticle 11.E.2..21] a. Horizontal Curves The minimum allowable radius for horizontal curves on residential access streets, local streets and non-plan collector streets shall be determined in accordance with Green book Fig. 3-2, based upon a design speed oftwenty (20) m.p.h. for a residential access street, thirty (30) m.p.h. for a local street and forty-five (45) m.p.h. for a nonplan collector street, or as approved by the County Engineer. b. ll required lines of sight shall be accommodated wholly within the limits ofthe street right-of-way or tract, as applicable. Line of sight shall be measured from points along the center of the travel lane to points along the centerline of pavement, in the direction of travel. c. Streets shall be laid out to intersect as nearly as possible at right angles. d. The same design speeds shown in 7.a. shall be used for other roadways design elements such as clear zone. 8. Landscaping of Medians on Public Streets [ref. rticle 11.E.2..23] When the developer proposes or is required to install landscaping within streets to be maintained by the County, the landscaping shall be installed in accordance with approved plans prior to acknowledgment of completion and acceptance of the street for County maintenance. s a condition of landscape plan approval, the developer shall be required to execute a maintenance-and-hold-harmless agreement and may be required to record said agreement in the public records. lternately, the developer may include language for maintenance of the landscape on public streets within the property owner's documents, if applicable and as approved by the County Engineer
4 9. Paver nstallation a. Thoroughfare Roadways municipality may submit a right-of-way permit application to the Land Development Division for the installation of paver stones on a roadway identified on the County's thoroughfare plan. The application shall include a Paver nstallation and Maintenance greement and must comply with the standard details included in this section, unless otherwise approved by the County Engineer. b. Local Roadways property owner may submit an executed Palm Beach County Removal greement to the Land Development Division for the installation of paver stones for a driveway on a local roadway. Land Development staff will determine whether a right-of-way permit is also necessary to allow the pavers
