1. Introduction In this handbook, which is a supplement to the main handbook, you will find exercises and training material for selected construction and SelectionProfessional functions. A training exercise would be described. With the specifications the task can be solved. If the specifications are not there they can be freely selected. After the exercises there are hints and sample solutions to the exercises. All designs and exercises are in the folder Selection\user\CAD\90_Uebung_practice and can be respectively downloaded. You will find the updated practice exercises on the SelectionProfessional internet pages. 4 / 59 SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf

2. Exercises 2.1 Exercise 1, Selection of Favorites / Catalogue Selection Design Specifications Cabinet specifications Cabinet name U1 Cabinet type Standard cabinet / Single cabinet construction / overlay Height 800mm Width 1000mm Depth 600mm Worktop 19mm, Protrusion in front=20mm Plinth design Panel, 80mm high Partition cabinet Centre side 400mm inside width from left Drawers 3 pieces, same frontal height Doors right mounted, Intermat hinge Shelves 2 pieces Fittings selection Handle Catalogue selection: Item Nr Hinges Favorites selection: Intermat hinges 9943 Drawers Catalogue selection: InnoTech variable Shelf support Favorites selection: Shelf support Duplo SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf 5 / 59

2.1.2 Solutions to Exercise 1 Step 1. Cabinet dimensions Customize dimensions At first the dimensions of the cabinet will be specified. For this the respective tree entry Standard Cabinet/Single cabinet/overlay/carcase size is opened. Subsequently the values for Height, Width, Depth are specified. Adjust counter top The counter top is selected and the Thickness and the Overlay front would be respectively modified. Bottom panel settings So that the base gets a height offset, a value of 80 is entered in the field Height offset. With this the construction type of the plinth would be set to panel automatically and the height would also be adjusted automatically. 6 / 59 SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf

Step 2. Cabinet partition Centre panel A continuous centre panel would always be set at first in the cabinet. This is then followed by construction base, doors, etc. At first the cabinet must be selected in the zone mode. The cabinet is coloured green on the inside. This is the standard setting when one starts the cabinet partitions for the first time. The option Insert center panels is selected from the assistant. The cabinet partition is from left to right. With a specification of Division 400mm:1 a zone with an inside width of 400mm would be generated on the left. The right zone indicates itself automatically from the rest (:1). Door In the right zone a hinged door should be mounted. For this the zone would be selected in the zone mode. It will then be presented in green. From the assistant, the option Insert doors/flaps would be selected. A standard door is selected. The construction type would be changed to Stop right. Through the option Align hinge to hole-line, the hinge would be automatically aligned to the existing cabinet hole-lines. SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf 7 / 59

Drawers In the left zone three drawers would be mounted. For this the zone is selected in zone mode. It will then be presented in green. From the assistant, the option Insert drawers would be selected. A standard door is selected. The drawer system Drawers/Drawer with internal drawer/variable width is selected. The system recognises automatically that a complete box cannot fit here due to its dimensions. A selection is then not possible. The number of drawers is selected with a 3. Through this there is a partition of 1:1:1. The drawers thereby get three drawers with equal heights. Through the option Align runner to hole-line, the drawer would be automatically aligned to the existing cabinet hole-lines. Handles Handles would be inserted in component mode. For this it is changed to the component mode (red) and the desired front is selected. In this example the drawer fronts are selected at first. All three drawer fronts would be similarly selected. 8 / 59 SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf

It can happen that a customer or architect requests for special material number of a handle. For this the Item No can be entered in the option Type. The corresponding order number can then be entered. In this example the number is The handle would be fitted and the door can be selected in the component mode. The handle for the door fits itself perpendicular automatically. This can be influenced through the specification Angle An entry of 90 fits the handle horizontally. Shelf To mount the shelf behind the door, we change to zone mode (green). Subsequently the right zone is selected so that it is displayed in green. The option Insert shelves is selected from the assistant. SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf 9 / 59

Through the entry 2 in Number, a partition of 1:1:1 is generated automatically. The shelves would be distributed equally in the cabinet. However it is aligned automatically to the hole-lines, so a uniform subdivision may not always happen. Moreover for shelves, the shelf supports are automatically selected. This can be influenced by the options Use connectors and Align panel with hole-line. Finished cabinet partition The finished cabinet partition with centre panels, doors, drawers, shelves and handles. 10 / 59 SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf

Step 3. Item list Selection procedure The item list displays the fittings, which could be selected, in the upper area. If they are not selected (no selection), then no fittings would be mounted. The cabinet construction would however still be executed. This can, for e.g., be used for an initial inspection of designs. Favorites selection At first it suggests to select the fittings group for which favorites are available or can be taken. In this example, these are the shelf supports and cup hinges. The fittings would be selected from the list above. Subsequently the assignment of favorites takes place from the lower area. In our example, the Shelf supports for wooden panel and the Intermat 9943 TH Fix. SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf 11 / 59

Catalogue selection Items which are not selected from the favorites can be found with the help of the Hettich catalogue. For this the selection use catalogue selection is selected. This would be selected for all the positions for which a catalogue selection should be taken. It is sensible to not select a catalogue selection for all the positions at the same time. It is better, to take a selection position by position. In this way one can get a better overview. For the handles the catalogue selection is selected and subsequently the green tick is selected. The catalogue selection is opened. As a special material number is specified in the example, only one item would be displayed. The desired fitting will be taken up using the CAD button. After the selection, the article list would newly appear. The handle would be taken up in the updated selection. The green colour shows that the fittings selection is active and has been taken. 12 / 59 SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf

As the next step, the drawer systems are selected. There are two fittings group Two-sided drawer system. The drawer panels are same for all the drawers. However the actual inside height of the drawer is different. This is due to the upper and lower drawers overlying on the upper and lower shelf. This program therefore administers the selection to check whether the selected drawers can be inserted. When a position is selected, the corresponding position to the drawer will be displayed in red in the preview. In our example the catalogue selection is used and executed for the position 10 (green tick). SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf 13 / 59

The catalogue selection appears with the possible drawers. Through the accessory button, the necessary accessories can be selected. An overview appears with all possible accessories which are related to drawers. Design relevant accessories would be indicated with a red exclamation mark. There is a corresponding warning message in case these requisite accessories are not selected. In our example Front connector is selected. Using the CAD Button, the front connector is selected. The overview of the accessory list appears again. The front connector is no longer displayed underlined and can no longer be selected. Next, the Quadro slide on assembly is selected in the accessory list and taken up with the CAD button. Both design relevant positions are selected. The accessory selection can be completed with the button >> cancel article selection. 14 / 59 SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf

The fittings selection for the position 10 is accepted in the article list. The missing assignment for position 12 can be done using the favorites. Here the same favorite similar to position 10 is selected. In this example, the favorite InnoTech 520mm drawer_13. All fitting groups are now selected and indicated in green. With the proceed button, one can get the cabinet view. View of finished cabinet SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf 15 / 59

Step 4. Save cabinet The cabinet design can be saved with the entry Save in the assistant. While saving, the name must be specified at first and then the storage location. Step 5. Hettich order list The list with the requisite fittings can be accessed through the assistant via the tab Export Hettich-order list edit. Using the option in the assistant CAD Article >Catalog, the above displayed order list can be forwarded to shopping basket of the catalogue. 16 / 59 SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf

After the selection of the function, the order list can be assigned to a project. The projects can be set in the catalogue. The shopping basket is displayed in the catalogue. The displayed consignment (in this example U1 ) corresponds to the name of the saved cabinet design. The number of fitting units can also be changed manually. With the selection >> Back to the Designer, one can go back to the designer and to the design. SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf 17 / 59

2.2.2 Solutions to Exercise 2 Step 1. Cabinet dimensions Customize dimensions For the kitchen constructions a special area is created. Here the standard values are already set and can be accepted in this example. For this example, no values should be changed and they can be directly changed in the cabinet partition. Step 2. Cabinet partition The cabinet consists of only one zone and should be divided with a door and a drawer. So that this is also not possible without a design base, a front divider must be constructed. This will divide the zone without it being visible in the design later. The front divider will be inserted using the assistant Insert front partitoner. Through the field entry Division, a front divider of 1:250mm is inserted. This creates a subsequent drawer panel height of 250mm (see picture). Horizontal and vertical front dividers are differentiated. SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf 19 / 59

The front divider created two new zones which can be selected normally For the drawers, the upper area can be selected in zone mode and can be furnished with a drawer. A complete chest is selected. Further specifications need not be taken up; the drawer will adjust itself automatically to selected zone. Subsequently the lower zone can be selected and a door can be fixed. Handles will be placed on the front as usual. 20 / 59 SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf

Step 3. Article list All the fittings can be selected from the favorites for the selected example. View of finished cabinet SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf 21 / 59

2.3.2 Solutions to Exercise 3 Step 1. Cabinet dimension Customize dimensions The construction type standard cabinet / single cabinet construction / offset is selected Enter height, width and depth Adjust bottom panel The cabinet has a bottom panel which is offset for height. Therefore in the explorer tree the entry Base is selected and in the field Height offset, the value 60 is entered. The plinth adjusts itself automatically to the bottom panel. Step 2. Cabinet partition At first the centre panels are selected. For this, the entry Insert centre panels is selected in the assistant. The centre panels are defined from left to right. In the field Division, a value of 400mm: 1:400mm is defined. Three new zones emerge. SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf 23 / 59

Subsequently the design base is set. All the three requisite design bases can be set at the same time. For this all the three lower zones are selected at the same time till they get highlighted in green. From the assistant, the entry Insert construction shelves is selected. The specifications in the Division are related to the inner width from below. Therefore the value 550mm:1 is entered. In the lower area, an additional center panel is required. The centre zone is selected and the center panel is mounted using the assistant. The Division is provided with the value 200mm: 1. The drawers can also be built at the same time, if they have the same inner width. For this the right and left zones are selected. The entry Insert drawers is selected from the assistant. 24 / 59 SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf

The self produced chests / quadro pull-outs are selected from the tree structure. The number of drawers is selected as 3. The lower shelves can also be fixed at the same time. For this, the top right and left zones, as well as the 2 nd bottom zone from left is selected and highlighted in green. After the selection of the entry insert base shelf from the assistants, the number of shelves is entered as 2. After that in the middle of the upper zone, a construction shelf is fixed. Through the division 1:2, it is set with a shelf at a height. SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf 25 / 59

In the middle of the lower zone, a sliding door fitting is to be fitted. The entry Insert sliding/folding doors is selected from the assistant. Then the sliding door fitting Slide Line 55/56 is selected from the tree structure. The design specifications can be accepted. In the right upper zone, a glass door should be mounted. The entry Insert doors/flaps is selected from the assistant. In the tree structure the glass door is selected and Stop right is selected for Construction type. 26 / 59 SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf

The drawers and doors are provided with handles. For this the mode must be changed to component mode (red). As the last step the sliding doors need to be selected. Both the doors are automatically marked in red. However recessing handles must be used here which should be placed respectively left or right on the sliding doors. After the selection of the sliding doors in the component mode, a sliding door is selected in the lower left preview. Through this, it is no longer active and the specifications relate only to the sliding door marked in red. After the mounting of a recessing handle, the function Change knob/handle is selected and the other sliding door is deactivated with the help of a click. The front panel height of the drawers is also defined with height units. It is also possible to directly define the cabinet height with height units. In this example, we enter the value 8 in the Height units field. This is obtained from the panel height 5HE+2HE+1HE. The drawer panels should lie between the top and bottom panels. For this purpose a negative Backset value front of - 20 is entered. 30 / 59 SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf

The overlays of the drawer panels are automatically adjusted with a negative value. This creates a reveal. Step 2. Cabinet division In the office area, drawers should always be individually installed. Simultaneous multiple installation is not possible. The installation is carried from bottom to top. The last panel always includes the lock. The Insert drawer option is selected from the Assistant. The entry Steel drawer / Division is selected from the menu tree. The drawer height is given as 5HE. SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf 31 / 59

Completed view of the kitchen Solutions to Exercise 5 Step 1. Preparation New room planning and request creation From the entry - Assistant Cad / Roomplan in the Designer, one can reach the room planning Assistant. This can be identified by the yellow background. At first the New Roomplan point is selected. This generates an empty marking area. Before a room planning is started, a request should be created. The room is saved in the request. In addition, request information is also specified. This is of importance during the output of the Document Manager. SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf 35 / 59

The dialogue is opened with the Create order / project Assistant. A request name is specified under Order Name, in this example U5. In the settings, the value Kitchen U5 is entered under Commission and any desired name is entered under Name of Employee. These entries will later appear on the cover of the Document Manager. Room definition The option 1. Define wall... is selected from the Assistant. 36 / 59 SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf

The wall type L-shape Right is selected. The Wall Length value is specified as 3500 and Wall Length 2 is given as The settings for Wall Material were selected as A_1-1 and Floor Material as B_1-12. The dialogue is ended with the green check mark. Subsequently the insertion point of the wall should be selected. For this purpose, the mouse pointer is placed at the desired position in the marking window and the left mouse button is clicked, for example, in the left bottom corner of the window. SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf 37 / 59

The windows are inserted with the help of the 2. Define window... Assistant. After selection, specify the entry for Style as Rotary bottom-hung wing and the measurement is adjusted as displayed. The gap from the wall end should be 500 mm. After confirming with the green check mark, the mouse pointer changes into a small square. With this the left wall in the rear area is selected. The inner wall line should be exactly selected. The window is correspondingly installed. The doors are inserted with the Assistant 3. Define doors.... Even after confirming the door selection with the green check mark, the right rear wall can be selected at the end. The door is installed in the wall. 38 / 59 SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf

Setting the raster The designs in the cabinet library of SelectionProfessional do not include plinths. They float above the ground. This is achieved by the raster system. The entry Define Raster is selected from the Assistant. A dialogue box is opened and several rasters can be defined and positioned here. For example, there can be a raster for the plinth, one raster for the top cabinet, etc. In the selected example, the raster A1 is activated by the check mark in the selection box. After any modification the entry should be saved with the diskette on top right. The raster is displayed optically on the bottom. The Hide / display Carrer@ Raster option can be used to display or hide the raster. Even a hidden raster is active. The raster has been hidden for the example. Step 2. Insert furniture The first furniture, especially in a kitchen design, should be inserted in the top view. It is best to start with the corner cabinet. The option 5. Insert furniture / decorative elements is selected from the Assistant. A dialogue window is opened for the selection of the desired cabinet. SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf 39 / 59

The desired folder can be selected by the Look in option. In this example the design U900_DK_2T is searched in the folder 01_Kueche_kitchen_19/ 01_Eckunterschraenke_corner-cabinet. The file is selected and the Open button is selected. Again the mouse pointer changes into a square. The inner line of the wall can be selected with this square. The line should be selected exactly. The cabinet can be then pushed into the corner with the mouse. If it is positioned there, the left mouse button is pressed. The insertion dialogue is opened for the carcase. 40 / 59 SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf

For confirming the entry the green check mark is selected and the cabinet is installed. The cabinet is installed with all details, with fittings and bores. This may hinder the overview during a room planning and challenge the computer s capacity. Therefore, it should be possible to reduce the detail levels. This should always be implemented during a room plan. From the View / Display details... menu, the entry low is selected. Now only the contour of the furniture is seen. Further designs can be planned in the 3D and plane views. This is helpful for creating a better overview and during furniture selection. The Isoview is set with the button. The 3D surface display is adjusted with the button. The room is displayed as shown on the left. The next furniture is again selected with the assistant and the option 5. Insert furniture / decorative elements. The furniture U900_1FA_1SPA_1BL_1 is selected from the folder 01_Kueche_kitchen_19 / 02_Unterschraenke_floor-unit / is selected this time. The cabinet U500_2FA_1S is selected from the folder 01_Kueche_kitchen_19 / 02_Unterschraenke_floor-unit / Thereafter the available base unit is selected and the new cabinet is installed near it. This is followed by the base units U500_1S_1T-L from the folder 01_Kueche_kitchen_19 / 02_Unterschraenke_floorunit / Subsequently the tall unit H600_3S_2T-L_KL is selected from the folder 01_Kueche_kitchen_19 / 03_Hochschraenke_tall-unit / Hoehe_height On the left is displayed the view of the completed insertion of the furniture on the first wall. This is followed by the furniture for the second wall. For this the furniture U150_R is uploaded from the folder Dazu wird das Möbel U150_R aus dem Ordner 01_Kueche_kitchen_19 / 02_IT_Unterschraenke_floor-unit / / 59 SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf

For this the corner unit is selected with the mouse. An insertion dialogue appears. In the pre-selection, the cabinet is inserted on the left. But it should be placed on the right near the corner unit. For this the small grey box (see image above) is selected. The red cabinet (presently inserted) is shifted and inserted on the right near the cabinet. Further shelves are inserted after the shelf has been constructed. U900_1FA_1SPA_1BL_1 from the folder 01_Kueche_kitchen_19 / 02_Unterschraenke_floor-unit / U150_R from the folder 01_Kueche_kitchen_19 / 02_Unterschraenke_floor-unit / U500_5S from the folder 01_Kueche_kitchen_19 / 02_Unterschraenke_floor-unit / SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf 43 / 59

The next step is the insertion of the top cabinet. For this the cabinet O1000_KL_HK_1 Is selected from the folder 01_Kueche_kitchen_19/ 05_Oberschraenke_wallunit / Hoehe_height-433 / It is selected with reference to the tall unit. At first the top cabinet is placed on the drawer bottom ground like a bottom cabinet. This can be changed with the insertion dialogue box. 44 / 59 SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf

The second tab (marked red in the image above) is selected for this purpose. Thereafter the top cabinet is pulled upwards and backwards. This is carried out by selecting both the smaller, grey cuboids (framed in red). The top cabinet is level with the tall unit. Step 3. Worktop, plinth, visible side insertion Select the Parts tab from the assistant and then select the Insert worktop entry. The mouse pointer changes into a square. The base unit is selected. It is best to select the cross rail, so that the cabinet can be clearly identified. SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf 45 / 59

Subsequently the extreme right base unit is selected on the other side of the wall. Here too, it is best to select the cross member. The selection is completed with the ENTER key or the right mouse button. The insertion dialogue of the work top appears. The right protrusion is changed to 40 mm. The specifications are confirmed with the green check mark and the worktop is installed. 46 / 59 SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf

The worktops can be furnished with a divider. Before selection, the option is changed to 3D wire model. From the assistant the option Separate worktop (with suggestion) is selected. The worktop edge can be selected exactly with the help of the square. Three red dividing lines are recommended in red. The desired divider line can be selected with the square. In our example, the extreme left line is selected. After the line has been selected, the process can be completed with the green check mark. The worktop is separated and we can switch to the 3D surface display with the button. SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf 47 / 59

The left tall unit is selected first with the mouse. Subsequently the right base unit is selected on the other wall side and the selection is completed with ENTER or the right mouse button. 48 / 59 SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf

The plinth insertion dialogue appears. Under the point Strips point, the option Right is set to No and the option Left is set to No. This ensures that the right and left plinth is not designed. Insertion of visible side The last base unit should be furnished with a visible side. For this purpose, the option Insert edge board should be selected from the assistant. Following this, the outer side of the carcase should be selected. The side is then doubled in dimension externally. The visible side dialogue box is opened after the carcase side is selected. The Front offset is 20 mm. The Protrusion bottom is110mm, this corresponds to the plinth height. After confirmation with the green check mark, the visible side is installed. The visible side function doubles all the selected components, i.e. all the worktops. Thus, for e.g. a shelf bottom can be created. SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf 49 / 59

Insertion of baffles A baffles should be inserted lateral to the tall unit. For this, Isoview southeast is selected. Thereafter the top left corner of the cabinet is enlarged, to select the cabinet side. From the Assistant the Insert cornice option is selected. Subsequently the exact outer edge of the cabinet side is selected by the left mouse button. The front panel dialogue is opened by clicking on ENTER or the right mouse button. An Inset of 69 mm and a Protrusion bottom of 110 mm are selected. With this the front panel is locked with the plinth. The front panel is installed after the selection of the green check mark. 50 / 59 SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf

Cornice The tall unit and the top cabinet should be provided with a cornice. For this the Insert cornice option should be selected from the Assistant. Initially the tall unit and then the top cabinet are selected. Subsequently the cornice dialogue is accessed by Enter or the right mouse button. SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf 51 / 59

Step 4. Insert the Deco-elements Various Deco-elements should be inserted in the kitchen. Deco elements are inserted like normal furniture and can be placed on the basis of the available furniture. Insert the Sink With the help of the Assistant (Tab Roomplan) the option 5.Insert furniture / decorativ elements is selected. It opens a dialog box for the selection of the desired cabinet or deco-elements. The folder 10_Deco/03_Kueche_kitchen/03_Spuelen_sink is selected and then the sink Spuele_sink_02 is selected. The sink should be placed on the 900mm rinse base cabinet. A drawer front for the carcase is selected. The insertion dialog opens. The sink should be placed on the carcase, for this the upper grey cuboids are selected and the red carcase is moved upwards. The sink is positioned exactly on the base unit. Also, the sink should be placed on the work top. The sink can be brought exactly on the work top by providing the input 38 in Distance / 59 SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf

With the second tab (red marking), the sink can be customized in the width and depth position. With the selection of both the grey cuboids, the red cubiods will be placed rightwards and in the front. Insert the Hob Plate The option 5. Insert furniture / decorativ elements is once again selected from the Assistant. The folder 10_Deco/03_Kueche_kitchen/02_Herdplatte_abzug_hob_hood will be selected and then the hob plate Herdplatte_hotplate_01. The hob plate should be placed on the hob under cabinet. For this, the front of the base cabinet is to be selected. It opens the insertion dialog for furniture and deco-elements. SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf 53 / 59

Similar to the sink, the hob plate will be placed on the cabinet. For this, the insertion dialog is to be positioned upwards (select the grey cuboids). Finally, the Distance 1 is to be fixed with 38. With the second tab, the position of the hob plate is defined in depth and width. For Distance 1, a value of 150 will be specified. Insert the Hood The hood Abzugshaube_hood_01 is selected from the folder 10_Deco/03_Kueche_kitchen/02_Herdplatte_abzug_hob_hood It will once again select the front of the under-cabinet as the outlet should be positioned exactly on the under-cabinet. This opens the insertion dialog. The hood is placed upwards and a Distance 1 of 900 is specified. Finally, the second tab is selected and a Distance 2 of -150 is specified. With this, the hood is fitted with a distance to the window. The hood is inserted using the green tick mark. 54 / 59 SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf

Display with the Deco elements inserted Step 5, Material Selection Various surfaces can be assigned for the furniture, work tops, window panel, plinth elements and visible sides. All elements can be simultaneously selected and can be defined with the similar surface or even every component can be handled individually. The dialog for the material selection can be found under the tab Material and there the option Choice of materials. The Material dialog opens. At first, Standard is to be selected in the Catalog. In the Category, the type of surface is selected. In the recent example, the plasticcoated chipboard (Décor) is selected. Because of the selection of the category, only certain materials will be showed. SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf 55 / 59

After the selection of the category, it is specified, on which furniture or component the specifications are based. For this, the selection button is given. Finally, all the furniture to which the surface selection should correspond is specified. Firstly, the tall unit is selected and then, all the remaining furniture. To optimize, the fronts of the furniture are selected. The selected furniture is presented with a sketch. After selecting all the furniture, the selection is ended with the ENTER key or the right mouse click. Now, the components / elements are showed in the picture on the left. This is for the components, for which surface occupancy is possible. This example is of the Cabinet, Front and Back. Every individual element can be occupied with a surface. For this purpose, the elements are selected and the corresponding Value is entered under the Material. In this example, the surface KF_D_3-012 for the front. Finally, the texture is selected. An overview of the various surfaces is given in the handbook SelectionProfessional_Library. 56 / 59 SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf

Likewise, the carcase is showed with the value KF_C_028. Earlier, the category was changed to plastic-coated chipboard (colours). The choice is to be confirmed with the green tick mark. Finally, the work top will be covered with granite. When an individual component is to be covered with granite, individual selection is to be used. Again, the dialog Material selection opens. The function Individual selection is selected and both the work tops are chosen. The selection will end with the ENTER or the right click. Finally, the Catalog / Standard and the Category / Granite are selected. The material is selected with Granite_B_4_0006. The details are confirmed with the green tick mark. Once again, Material selection is selected in the Assistants. Now, the remaining components are selected in the room planning. The cornice (select every individual segment), visible sides, panels and the base will be selected with the Individual selection. SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf 57 / 59

The elements plinth, panel, cornice are shown in the tree diagram and can be individually covered with materials. 58 / 59 SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf

Step 6, Display Surfaces The selected surface can be displayed on the screen. In Assistants, the tab Material the input Display room / cabinet with colors is selected. Alternatively, the symbol (Colored display) can be selected. The colour display dialog opens. The presentation quality can be searched in the area Quality. The higher the quality selected, more is the time required for the presentation of the room planning. The rendertarget can be selected between Viewport (updated screen display) or Renderwindow (new window). The brightness of the outlay can be controlled with Lights. A coloured print out of the view can be given. For this, the File / Plot... is to be selected in the Menu. After finishing the construction, the order should be saved in the tab Roomplan under Save order / project. SelectionProf_Training exercises_en.pdf 59 / 59
