Cost:$55 Description:Using Alex Anderson s Quilt as an inspiration this class takes the new quilter beyond the basics to include bias seams, triangles, and mitered borders. You will learn the art of the walking foot, some decorative stitches on your domestic sewing machine and leap into free motion quilting by the end. Machine quilting takes a long time to master, let Ida get you started out right with this fun class full of helpful tips and techniques.

Walk through some of the many designs in Doodle Quilting by Cheryl Malkowski. Excellent filler designs to add to your free motion quilting arsenal! Ida will instruct students in many tips and techniques to make your machine quilting smooth and elegant as you work towards mastering the art of machine quilting.

40 Quilt-as-you-go Level: Confident Beginner (prerequisite Intro to Machine Quilting or similar experience) Teacher: Ida Anderson Dates: Cost: $30 Tuesday, November 22 nd from 9:30-2pm Or Tuesday, February 28 th 10:00-3pm Description: Quilting smaller pieces is always easier than larger ones. This technique will break down your large projects and make them more accomplishable! Learn to quilt blocks in a variety of ways then, learn how to connect them into a larger and larger project. A large scale print is perfect for this class. Finished size: at least a table runner but students can continue on to their heart s content!

41 Quilt-as-Desired Level: Confident Beginner ( prerequisites Intro to Machine and Doodles or similar experience) Teacher: Ida Anderson Dates: Saturday, Sept. 3 rd from 10-4:00pm Cost: $40 Description: Bring in a completed table runner or crib sized quilt top all sandwiched with batting and backing and basted and we will make a quilting plan that suits your skill level and the project and then begin to quilt the project. Leave class with a plan and the skills to complete it! Finished Size: varies student to student

42 Baltimore Basics Hand Applique(6 session class) Level: Beginner Teacher: Patsy Mosby Dates: 2 nd Wednesday of each month from 6:00-8:00 pm beginning February 8 th. Cost: $85 Description: Learn the basics of Baltimore Album quilts with an award winning expert! Patsy is an excellent teacher- her student s work is almost as gorgeous as hers- get hooked on hand applique! Learn a variety of techniques and change your quilting forever. Applique will not be a four letter word anymore! Finished size: Dependent on students setting choices.

43 Advanced Baltimore Hand Applique Techniques (Multi session class) Level: Advanced- students with a confident level of the basics of baltimore and hand applique skills Teacher: Patsy Mosby Dates: 2 nd Monday of the month beginning September 12 th from 10-12pm OR from 1-3pm Cost: $75 Description: Taking Baltimore Basics to the next level. This class is currently full for all sessions. Inquiries for future class sessions taken at the shop. Finished size: dependent on students pattern choices

44 Scrap Therapy! Level: Beginner Teacher: Debbie Spoelker Date: 3 rd Thursday evening of each month. Cost: $15 for one time Cut it Up Session to teach you the basics and $15 for each project you choose to participate in thereafter Do you need therapy? Scrap therapy, that is! Do you have bags/bins/boxes of fabric left over from all your projects, but you can t seem to throw them away because you know you will use them? Then this is the group for you Come to our Cut-It-up session where you will cut your scraps up into usable sizes. Then in subsequent months, we will offer different projects where you will use the scraps to create beautiful items! Cut it up session is required for all new participants. Fee for this is and the first month of any new project is $15 and you can decide which projects you would like to attend, after your Cut it up session. We ask that you pre-pay for a session you plan to attend in order to reserve your space. Check calendar on website for specific projects and details. Once the cut-it up session is attended, you can sign up for any or all of the meetings. Call the shop for more information.

45 Side Track Art Quilters Club Level: Everyone is welcome Coordinator: Pat Marek 1006 West Main St Tomball Texas (281) Dates: 2 nd Monday of every month from 5:30-8pm Cost: Free Description: This is a flexible group of quilters of all different levels and experiences who get together monthly to discuss and show different techniques, show and tell their projects, offer constructive criticism and guidance to eachother and generally support each other in artistic endeavors of all kinds! Occasionally, we do challenges as a group based around a theme or upcoming quilt show. We take turns showing different skills and techniques to enrich our work. Snacks are served. Contact the shop if you are interested in attending, new faces welcome.

46 Quilts for Soldiers and Soldier s Families Level: Everyone is welcome! Coordinator: Marian Page and Judy Aswad Dates: 2 nd Tuesday of every month from 9:30-1:30pm Cost: Free Description: This active group meets monthly to make quilts to comfort and honor the loved ones of fallen soldiers. You may come and participate with whatever skills you have be it folding and organizing fabric, pressing, piecing, cutting or quilting. You may also donate a quilt to this group ( patriotic colors are welcome but not required). This group also accepts donations of quilt shop quality fabric, thread and batting which will be used exclusively for making quilts for this very deserving charity. Donate your old stash to the cause! Contact the shop for more information or stop in while they are meeting and they will put you to work!

49 Supply lists are available for all classes on our website by clicking on the title of the class on the CLASSES page or at the shop. Note if a pattern is required, each student must own a copy. We respect and follow copyright laws! UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED, ALL CLASSES REQUIRE: *Basic Sewing Supplies: Pins, needles, scissors, seam ripper, bobbins, thread, rotary cutter and ruler (many teachers ask you to bring a 6 x24 ruler), pencil, paper. Cutting mats, cutting table, irons and ironing boards are available in the classroom. Feel free to bring your own, if you d like. Sewing Machines: You should be familiar with your sewing machine and it should be in good working order. Bring your manual, just in case! Bring the cord and pedal! We work hard to offer you well-organized and interesting classes. Please be responsible when signing up for a class. We ask that you show your commitment in planning to attend by paying for each class when you sign up. Of course, we understand that emergencies happen. However, in most cases, a phone call or is possible explaining the situation. In that case, we will gladly refund your money or apply your payment to a later class. Not showing up, without notifying either the teacher or the shop may prevent another person from attending the class or result in the teacher preparing and driving to the shop needlessly. Failure to notify us that you are not attending a class may result in losing all or part of your class fee. To sign up for class, bring cash, check or debit card (no credit cards accepted for class fee, since 100% of this fee goes to the teacher, not to the shop). If you pay by check, it will not be cashed until the day the class is scheduled. Thanks for your understanding in this. Please consider purchasing your class supplies at our shop.
