Include all pertinent infrmatin in the request including seasn, brand, prduct descriptin, TradeStne style number, and design details r special cnstructin ntificatins. 78 Hw t Weigh Batting We take fur cuttings frm the filled item t achieve an average fill weight. The circles we cut are 2 11/16 (just under 2 7/8 ) diameter, the same sized cutting as used when weighing fabric. Our scale is calibrated t accurately weigh thse sized cuttings t identify the z/sq yd which we then cnvert t gsm by multiplying by We take cuttings acrss all quadrants f the filled prduct. Refer t the grid belw fr the crrect cutting psitins. This methd gives a gd indicatin f the levelness f the batting. We then weigh all fur cuttings and calculate the average weight. NOTE: we remve all scrims and sewing threads befre we take the weight f each cutting t prevent extra weight frm being added. 80 Khl s Technical Design Prcess Used t Determine Twel Weight Twels are weighed as a ttal piece using and recrded in a punds per dzen (lbs/dz) measuring unit. We use a sweater scale that cnverts 1 twel t a 12 twel (dzen) weight (measurement used fr dyeing). 1. T weigh the ttal twel fld the twel neatly s that it fits n the tp f the sweater scale platfrm. Be sure that n part f the twel is hanging ff the edge. This gives the twel weight in punds per dzen (lbs/dz). 2. T cnvert punds per dzen (lbs/dz) t a grams per square meter (gsm) number we use a cnversin frmula that requires the width and length f the twel alng with the lbs/dz weight. T check the cnsistency f the pile weight between cmpnents in a twel set bath, hand, tip r wash we weigh a punched cutting f each cmpnent s pile then cmpare thse weights t the bath twel weight, which shuld be the crrect punds per dzen (lbs/dz) and is therefre the standard. Cmpnent s pile weights shuld be very similar t the standard pile weight. A. Take the punched cutting frm the same lcatin in each cmpnent aviding the hems, dbby and all embridery/embellishments. B. We use a die cutter that measures 2 11/16 as ur scale is calibrated t weigh this size.
