2 MISSY BILLINGSLEY Missy travels the country teaching classes on sewing, serging, embroidery, and software for Baby Lock USA. She specializes in heirloom sewing by machine and serger. Missy has taught at the Martha Pullen School of Art Fashion and various sewing events across the country. A Martha Pullen Licensed Teacher and a Sulky Certified Instructor, Missy has made multiple appearances on Martha s Sewing Room and has been featured in Sew Beautiful Magazine, Creative Expressions Magazine and Creative Machine Embroidery and Quilting Magazine. DIANE AHOLT Diane managed a Baby Lock retail store for 7 years. She then took her passion for sewing and embroidery to the corporate level, spending more than 10 years as Education Manager for Baby Lock. Officially retired, Diane continues teaching classes and has special place in her heart for the Baby Lock Destiny. She introduced the machine to Baby Lock retailers when it first came out, and has developed IQ Designer classes annually for retailers and consumers ever since. Diane is a self-avowed IQ Designer fanatic who looks forward to sharing some of her knowledge with you. CHRIS TRYON Chris s creativity is evident in her designs, and her passion for sewing is on display through an eye-catching collection of designer fabrics, books, and the many notions and gadgets in her studio. Chris delights in teaching, and students enjoy spending the day with her expert guidance. She encourages students to explore new ideas and directions to take when they play with embroidery, create a quilt, or work on a home decor project. Chris s eye for color and texture inspires students to explore their own creative abilities and step outside their boxes. DEBBIE MARTINEZ Debbie layers textiles, inks, beads, and thread to convey impressions of nature. Her works tell stories and have been called fiber art, or art quilting. Debbie s designs have been exhibited internationally, as well as throughout the United States in dozens of solo and featured artist exhibitions. A Jenny Haskins Certified Instructor, specialized Baby Lock Instructor, and promoted instructor for rulers and new techniques, Debbie is versed in a variety of machines and is a longarm master. She regularly provided instruction to dealers on Baby Lock Tech, and has taught at the International Pacific Quilt Festival in California. PAGE 2

3 PAM MAHSHIE Pam began her career with Baby Lock about 30 years ago, and currently serves as National Ambassador of Education. She has worn many hats at Baby Lock including Education Consultant, Regional Sales Manager and Education Manager. Pam has recorded for PBS television with sewing celebrities Nancy Zieman, Martha Pullen, Marianne Fons and May Fons. Her monthly article, Pam s Travels, demonstrates her zeal for all avenues of sewing, and documents her experiences at the Nancy Zieman Love of Sewing Retreats, Martha Pullen Love of Heirloom Retreats, and Martha s School of Art Fashion. SUSAN ZELLERS Susan learned to sew from her mother at the age of three, and she s never looked back. She had her own business specializing in bridal gowns, special occasion items and custom embroidery, and later managed a sewing machine dealership. Susan s desire for unique embroidery propelled her into digitizing her own designs. Currently a Baby Lock Educator, Susan has taught at events with sewing celebrities such as Martha Pullen, Nancy Zieman, Eleanor Burns and John Deer. She has taught everything from basic sewing and serging to computer digitizing programs. DARRELLE ANDERSON Darrelle loves to sew. She jumped from garment construction, her first love, into the quilting world, and then embraced machine embroidery. Darrelle is a Pfaff Elite Educator who creates unique pieces with her signature mixture of techniques and embellishments. A recovering, self-proclaimed perfectionist, Darrelle distills her expertise and ability into simplified techniques easily grasped and applied by her students. She encourages them to express their own style, whether sewing or creating in embroidery software. Darrelle keeps the fun going in sewing, whetting her students appetites to fashion their own fun projects. KAREN CHARLES Karen is an Event Specialist with SVP Worldwide. She has 25 years of experience in the art of quilting, embroidery, sewing, heirloom and crafting. Karen is known for her enthusiasm in sharing her knowledge with others. Her teaching methods make even the most complicated task achievable for all students. She specializes in continuous machine embroidery techniques, PREMIER+2 Embroidery Software, thread painting, free motion, heirloom sewing and creative serging. PAGE 3

Come learn from Chris Tryon to make jeans your own with color choices that match your style. Chris custom digitized specific designs for this class, and you will have access to your own multi-needle machine to complete your wardrobe masterpiece. Bring your own pair of jeans to class ready for embroidery. For best results, select jeans that contain less than 5% spandex. Contact Kiki s for guidance on selecting the perfect pair for this project. Kiki s will also show you how to prepare your jeans for class. If you ve wanted to try this technique but didn t know where to start, come learn from a master of embroidery. Embroidery mysteries solved! Join your tour guide Chris Tryon, who does everything a stitch above the ordinary. You will complete two projects for two unforgettable adventures in embroidery. Chris shares several incredible samples of stitching on a variety of fabrics and projects. Come discover exciting ways to combine embroidery with quilting, as well as innovative ideas for embroidering garments and home décor. First, create an upscale and elegant project bag with a channel or cross hatch fill on velveteen. For project number two, you will embroider on a canvas bag with a dress appliqué of dimensional tulle. Come learn her secrets to creating stitched works of art with thread as paint. You will start with a gorgeous floral print from Kaffe Fassett, and make the flowers come alive by fussy cutting them from fabric and painting them with thread. Learn the technique of edge finishing with a satin stitch. Bring your camera to record Debbie s trunk show. Previous thread painting and free motion experience is not required. CREATIVITY UNLEASHED MARCH 27 & 29 10am-4pm Educator: Debbie Martinez Come explore the sewing world beyond fabric and thread, and learn from the most free-spirited, creative teacher you will ever meet. Debbie Martinez is a Baby Lock Ambassador of Education who excels at adding that special touch to a project and make you wonder. How did she do that? Debbie shares her secrets, so bring a camera to capture her trunk show of garments, quilts and embroidery. Your project starts with fabric. Then add scrapbook paper, organza and die cut flowers. She will lead you though this fun, creative class that dives into the decorative stitches of the Viking Designer Epic. This class gives you the opportunity to get your hands on an impressive machine. You will use the Epic s deluxe stitch system and JoyOS advisor to create a vinyl cell phone case and a semi-circle accessory bag, both in the hoop.
