The change we made last year for the starting time on Friday at 1PM was such a huge success we will once again have our first class starting at 1PM with registration at 11AM. We listened to your comments about wanting more free time so we hope the changes will give you some free time. On Friday, an afternoon snack will be served as well as our traditional Soup and Sandwich Supper served at 6PM. All of the members of the Headwaters Basketmakers Guild are excited to welcome back, Pam Talsky, Annetta Kraayeveld, Shirley Mount, Cathryn Peters, Eileen Spilman, Jill and Paul Scarpari. Fiber artist, Tressa Sularz is joining us on Sunday to offer a class using a knotless netting technique. The weaving classes are fabulous and they are going to fill up fast! Shirley Mount and her Basket Patch will be our vendor. Shirley advises that if you have a special request or an order she would love to fill that order before workshop and bring it to you. Shirley says there are hundreds of handles to pick from, so if you have a special size or shape call ahead and I will bring them with me. See Shirley s information on the following pages. Saturday night we will have our fabulous banquet meal, door prizes and maybe a surprise or two. Make sure you check out the Mini-Classes! I am personally looking forward to seeing all of our weaving friends again this year! Nancy Baer Workshop Chairperson

She is still obsessed with baskets and finds great satisfaction working with her hands, merging an age old art form with the contemporary world. Creating functional art pieces is her passion. When not weaving, Annetta is teaching, which she enjoys as much as weaving. She has been teaching at basketry events and guilds across North America since Annetta has earned several awards, including Best of Nantucket and Viewer s Choice at the 2013 AMB convention and Best of Mold Woven at the 2015 NCBA convention. 8 Shirley Mount Gilman, WISCONSIN Shirley began weaving in 1992 because she wanted her two home schooled daughters, ages 5 and 7 to learn to weave. Shirley had to finish the 5 year olds Berry Basket and so her weaving experiences began. She loved the process of weaving and began taking adult classes, ordered materials and patterns and dove in way over her head. As time passed friends wanted to learn to weave and so the teaching began. In 2009, out of necessity, The Basket Patch was established to sell supplies, as Shirley continued to teach, design and write patterns. As Shirley wanted to expand her knowledge of weaving techniques and materials she travelled to Martha Wetherbee s Basket Camp in Florida, Kentucky, and Wisconsin. Martha sparked Shirley s love for Nantucket style baskets and has become a good friend and coach and has helped to encourage Shirley to become an accomplished Nantucket weaver and teacher. Friday 1PM Nantucket Pedestal - $ " x 7.5" x 12" Intermediate The Pedestal is woven on a mold with cane; you will have many options for the style of weave.
