1 Ceta Canyon 2017 September 22, 23 & 24, 2017 General Meeting There will be a general meeting of the membership on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Who do I call for more information? Vendor on Site! Down Home Quilts Of Dumas, TX The retreat will have its own vendor so you can purchase fabric, books, and other notions you may have forgotten. There is always a huge selection to choose from. Cash, checks and credit cards are accepted! What to Expect The sewing room will open at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 22 nd with official activities starting at 5:00 p.m. Registration and projects will start after dinner. Remember, we will continue to sew until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday when the retreat will close. The cost of $200 will include your room with bed, linens, and meals from Friday evening through lunch on Sunday. There will be fun and visiting, project instructions, fellowship, and great scenery and memories for the making. If you are not already an OQS member, there will be a $15 additional charge. If you cancel before September 1 st, there will be a nonrefundable fee of $25. If you cancel after September 1st, there will be no refund. Massage Therapists The massage therapists will be returning this year to the retreat. Sign-up sheets will be available for 15 minute chair massages for a cost of $15. You won t want to miss her beautiful collection. We will have our annual quilt tour of the bed- please bring something to share.

2 Challenge Fibonacci Fun! The Fibonacci sequence is a series of numbers where a number is found by adding up the two previous numbers be- fore it. The sequence goes 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, This sequence is found in numerous places of nature, such as the shapes of spiral galaxies, hurricanes, flower petals, pine cones, sunflower center, etc. Challenge quilts must be less than 120 inches perimeter. You may use any technique or embellishment. A quilt must consist of three layers and be finished on all edges. Use any materials you choose, any colors, just incorporate the theme. Viewer s choice and prizes will be awarded. Quick Serger Block Quilt With Vicky Tracy Supplies: Serger if you have one, she will bring 3-4 sergers 2-5 charm packs; 3/4 yd for border; 1/4 yd for finishing strip Quilt size: = 96 charms; /2 = 80 charms.
