2 As we spring into summer, from May to June,, as part of the Quest 2020 Appeal programme, is delighted to introduce a wonderful festival of creativity. Featuring international and local flower arranging skills, musical performances and art, our Festival offers something for everybody. Many events are free, but we ask you to consider making a contribution to our Appeal fund. We also have several key events that will be entry by ticket only and we would advise early booking to avoid disappointment. Supported by Salisbury City Council We look forward to seeing you. The Appeal Quest 2020 Our Quest is to raise 2 million over the next two years to help save the church building and enable the church community to continue and expand its work in the city. Some of the major works include: Repairs to the crumbling clerestory The uncovering of medieval polychrome paint on the ceilings, carved angels and memorials. 2 Repairs to the Doom Painting Securing long term financial viability for the church by creating a flexible, user-friendly space for extensive community use. Improving seating, lighting, electrical system, staging and other facilities to enhance the experience for visitors, worshippers and other users.

3 Flowers Flower displays and demonstrations Come and enjoy the beautiful floral displays created by over 20 flower arranging groups on the theme of Ancient and Modern. Whether your interest is in large scale arrangements or formal Ikebana you will be amazed at all the skill and beauty displayed. Our talented arrangers include international, national exhibitors, demonstrators, judges and local flower clubs and church flower arrangers and an Ikebana Master. Wednesday 30th May 2018 Flower Demonstration: Emily Broomhead NAFAS National Demonstrator Emily Broomhead is a qualified NAFAS National Demonstrator who has also won gold medals at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and the Harrogate Spring Show in addition to representing the UK at the World Flower Show in Barbados. A selection of arrangements will be produced and these will be raffled at the end of the demonstration am to 11.30am House Canterbury Room 8.00 refer to booking details page 8 Thursday 31st May 2018 Flower Demonstration: Denise Bright NAFAS Area Demonstrator A range of traditional and contemporary flower arrangements will be created. Arrangements will be raffled at the end of the session am to 11.30am House Canterbury Room 8.00 refer to booking details page 8 Wednesday 30th May to Sunday 3rd June 2018 Flower Displays and Arrangements will be bedecked with over 20 floral displays, designed and exhibited by national and international demonstrators, local flower clubs and church flower groups. 4 Music Recitals and concerts Throughout the Festival there is a wide range of beautiful music performed by various artists and groups. All Lady Chapel recitals are free but we would appreciate your generosity to the Appeal as you leave. Come and join us for some wonderful music. He was the first winner of the prestigious Newport International Piano Competition. The programme will include works by Mozart, Beethoven and Chopin. 4

6 Art We are showing a wide selection of paintings, ceramics and sculpture at prices to suit all pockets art works will be available for purchase. Whether you are looking for a beautiful floral watercolour, a dramatic landscape, a charcoal sketch, an exquisite glazed vase or an elephant stone carving we are sure you will see things you like! We will have free live Art in Action demonstrations in the St Michael s room in the Church. Come and see the artists at work: Sally Pond painting her floral watercolours on Thursday 31st May (approx. 10am to 4pm) and Bob Norman throwing pots on a wheel on Saturday 2nd June (10am to 4pm). Tuesday 29th May Workshops for Young People (ages 8 16), led by Sally Pond The Young People s art work will then be displayed in and the public will be encouraged to vote for their favourites. Prizes donated by Noble Art will go to the winners. 10am to 12.30pm Or 2pm to 5pm House Children (Under 16) 7.50 Thursday 31st May Chinese Brush Painting for Beginners (ages ) Discover the fascinating ancient techniques of Chinese Brush Painting. Beautiful bamboo, powerful pine and swimming fish await your creation. All materials supplied and no previous experience required. 2pm to 5pm House Adults Friday 1st June Pottery for Beginners, using Wheel Throwing, Coiling and Pinch pots (ages ) Come and enjoy creating your first pots. Workshops led by potters Judith Viney and Bob Norman. No previous experience needed. Numbers are limited to allow everyone time on the wheels. Materials supplied.
