1 Read and Understand These Instructions Before Installing Fixture This Fixture is intended for installation in accordance with the National Electric Code and local regulations. To assure full compliance with local codes and regulations check with your local electrical inspector before installation. Do not install insulation within 3 inches of fixture sides or wiring compartment, nor above fixture in such a manner so as to entrap heat. WARNING Use only reflector trims provided by Lightolier. 6 PHASE #1 Making the Starter Fixture (Figure 1.) 1. Install hanging systems; see appropriate instruction sheet on page 13 for instruction. 2. On the first fixture, (the starter) unscrew the reflector or wire cover and set it aside. (Figure 1&2.) 3. On one end of the fixture push the wires back through the hole. This is done so the end-cap can slide on flush against the fixture. 4. Slide the end-cap on so that it is flush with the edge of the fixture. (Figure 4.) 5. Tighten the # 8-32 seam adjustment screws in the end-cap. This will reduce the gapping between the end cap and the housings. Be careful not to over tighten, and deform the end cap. (Figure 5.) 5

8 (Figure 6.) 6. Now move to the opposite end of the fixture. 7. Slide the joiner trim on to fixture as shown(figure 6.), and leave in place until Phase Now the starter is complete and ready to hang. Do not worry about the reflector, you will need it in the next phase. PHASE #2 Preparation for Hanging Fixtures 1. Slide the grip-lock assembly on to the bulkhead, then snap it into place (Figure 8). (Figure 8.) 7

9 2. Follow the procedure to mount the grip-lock on the opposite end of the fixture. 3. Now you can complete the electrical wiring of the fixture. Feed the wires from the power feed through the bottom opening of the bulkhead and into the ballast channel. (Figure 9.) (Figure 9.) 4. Clip the quick connects from the power feed to the quick connects in The ballast channel. 5. Suspend starter fixture at both ends.(figure 10 and 11) 8 (Figure10.)

11 (Figure13.) 1. On one end of the fixture attach the joiner trim and the grip-lock in the same way as the starter fixture. (Figure 6,8 & 9) 2. The end without a joiner trim is going to slide into the keyhole slots as shown. Completely tighten all both screws. (Figure 12.) 3. Slide joiner trim over joiner, and tighten 4 screws.(figure 13.) Phase #4 Completing the run with an end of run fixture 1. The end of run fixture is the last fixture in a run. A assemble by placing the remaining end cap from the LPL2EC36 end set on one end. As shown in (Figure 4 & 5). 2. Install the grip lock in as shown before in figure 6,8 &9. 3. Install end cap as shown in figures 4 and See table B for maximum run lengths. 10

Table B is not to be considered electrical code. Installing contractors are responsible for proper loading of circuits, and circuits are to be loaded per local and national standards. Note: Fixture runs can be longer than table B indicates if multiple power feeds are used. Table B would then indicate maximum distance between power feed drops 11
