2 COMMERFIAL FRAMING Series 406 KEY FEATURES/PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS Replaces: march 08 Scale: not to scale Series 406 FrontGLAZE framing is designed to complement other Elevate commercial framing and doors. High water resistance can be achieved - successfully tested at 600Pa water resistance. With a large variety of transom and mullion alternatives, Series 406 will also accept many of the Series 400 CentreGLAZE frame accessories including doors, sub-frames and thresholds. Industry standard glazing pocket with true captive glazing wedge. Three mullion designs allow frames to be constructed with snap together mullion and epansion mullion with central weather leg for improved waterproofing. Two midrail sizes (50mm and 125mm). Large variety of glazing and beading options. Built-in drip groove on transoms to encourage water to leave framing face. 3 Series 406 Sound Reduction A number of glass combinations have been tested with this system to acheive sound reduction numbers listed below. 4 COMMERFIAL FRAMING Series 406 DESIGN FEATURES Replaces: march 08 Scale: not to scale On Series 406 the glass is located close to the front face with concealed drain holes across the transoms. The interlocking mullion has an additional weather leg behind the glazing pocket to improve water resistance.

5 Series 406 Design Features FrontGLAZE shopfront framing system is designed to complement other Elevate commercial framing and doors (including Series 400 CentreGLAZE framing, SlideMASTER sliding doors, Series 410 FoldMASTER Bi-fold doors and Series 411 and 412 ViewMASTER Bi-fold doors). High water resistance can be achieved using the appropriate mullion and transom combinations. Has been successfully tested at 600Pa water resistance. Refer following pages for details on mullion and transom options. The mm framing system has a large variety of transom and mullion alternatives. Refer following pages for details on mullion and transom water resistance details. This system will also accept many of the Series 400 CentreGLAZE frame accessories including doors, sub-frames and thresholds. Glazing pocket is the same as CentreGLAZE and is designed to be compatible with industry standard, with the added feature of a truly captive glazing wedge. Three mullion designs allow frames to be constructed with, snap together mullion similar to conventional Series 400 CentreGLAZE framing and epansion mullion with central weather leg for more waterproof installation requirements. Two midrail sizes (50mm and 125mm). The five transom designs cover a large variety of glazing and beading options. All transoms have built-in drip groove to encourage water to leave the face of the framing as soon as possible. The sills and transoms are splayed at 25 to reduce the chance of dust and pollution build-up. These build-ups can damage the metal finishes. Matching 25 splayed bead also available for doors. 6 COMMERFIAL FRAMING Series 406 TYPICAL CONFIGURATIONS Replaces: march 08 Scale: not to scale FrontGLAZE hinged doors with fied sidelight/s, but no highlights. A 50mm wide centre pocket, open back frame section can be fitted on all three sides, with the snap-in door stop. Open in or open out doors. Thresholds for open in or open out doors make it possible to fit these units into sub-sill. FrontGLAZE hinged doors with fied sidelight/s, and highlights. The FrontGLAZE jamb, and one of the four FrontGLAZE. Transoms make up the fied highlights. An applied door stop is screwed to these FrontGLAZE frames to allow us to hinge doors. Open in or open out doors. FrontGLAZE will accept awning/casement sashes with snap-in adaptors and dedicated sashes. FrontGLAZE centre pivot doors with fied sidelight/s, but no highlights. A dedicated transom to accept COC closers and the 50mm width matches adjoining fied head. FrontGLAZE has been designed to snap to SlideMASTER doors. The SlideMASTER jambs (102 and 150mm frames have been designed to create a waterproof joint when snapped to FrontGLAZE frames. FrontGLAZE centre pivot doors with fied sidelight/s and highlights. A dedicated transom accepts COC closers and can be eternally FrontGLAZE beaded. The 50mm transom width matches adjoining fied transom. Midrails can be 125mm or 50mm and they can be fitted with 25 splayed beads to match the 25 splay on FrontGLAZE transoms and sills.

7 Series 406 TRANSOM AND SILL OPTIONS 200Pa water resistance type. 11 Replaces: MARCH 08 Scale: HALF FULL SIZE Five completely different options: Gives designers a large variety of options to suit most building applications. Snap together assembly with eternal snap-on glazing bead. On all of these transom options the moisture is drained away from the glazing pocket and out of the framing system. On several of the competitor products the moisture is retained in the system and drained into the lowlight glazing area. Again the water is drained out via concealed drain holes in the drip mould area. Notes: Two piece transoms allow the critical area where transom meets verticals to be re-sealed after assembly (before the flat filler is fitted). No drainage holes are drilled/machined in the front face. Series 406 drainage holes are concealed in the drip groove for maimum performance and improved appearance. Frames tested were fitted with sub-sills. Transom (21) with internal and eternal glazing beads. You get the choice of which side you can glaze/reglaze the panes of glass. PAGE 1.241

8 COMMERFIAL FRAMING Series 406 FRAMING FEATURES The glazing pocket is the same as CentreGLAZE framing. Accept true captive wedge glazing to reduce on-site glazing labour. This pocket will also accept roll-in wedges both sides. This pocket will accept CentreGLAZE snap-in filler. 300Pa water resistance Replaces: march 08 Scale: FULL SIZE 406.FXD.2 Pocketed filler has screw splines to assist fabrication. The additional front screw spline keeps the front joint tight. This snap together mullion is very similar to the conventional CentreGLAZE mullions and uses the same pocketed filler as the snap together transom. The heavy interlocking mullion assembly shown left has been designed for projects where epansion is required. The mullion is significantly stronger than most other products on the market as we were able to locate enough metal in front of the pocket to increase the 'I' value. Self-mating mullions have an additional weather leg located directly behind the glazing pocket area. This detail shows the captive wedge on the inside. But for internally glazed systems or projects that require safety glazing, the captive wedge can be located on the outside. 600Pa water resistance Full interlock on the eternal face.

9 Series 406 DOOR OPTIONS Replaces: MARCH 08 Scale: HALF FULL SIZE Three door options Elevate offer three different types of doors as shown below. For more information including assembly details, refer Series 400 CentreGLAZE framing. COMMERCIAL FRAMING Series 50 Horizontal eternal beads only with aluminium corner spigot joinery. Series 51 Horizontal eternal beads only with screw spline joinery. Series 52 Fully beaded (inside and out) with aluminium corner spigot joinery. Series 50 and 51 Stiles wrap around the glass as shown above. Elevate have a large variety of stiles including wide and rebated French stiles. The glazing pocket is the same width and depth as framing. Series 52 Stiles and rails are fully beaded, standard bead setup is square verticals with 45 splayed horizontals. 10 COMMERFIAL FRAMING Series 406 TRANSOM TYPE 11 Transom/Sill type 11 Replaces: march 08 Scale: FULL SIZE & NTS All FrontGLAZE glazing beads are 19mm high, giving plenty of bite (overlap) on the glass. Successfully tested to resist 200Pa water. 406.FXD.1 Snap together transom can be drained down in front of the glazing pocket area. Notes: Leaving salt or other dust on a flat face can create a potential problem with the metal finish if the salt/pollution is not removed. The 25 splay on the Elevate FrontGLAZE system guides dust and salt away from the framing. No drain holes on front face This detail shows how this system can be security glazed with captive wedge on the outside and roll-in wedge on the inside. The drip recess on the underside of the transom ensures that this water leaves the frame.

11 Series 406 TRANSOM/SILL TYPE 14 Transom/sill type 14 All FrontGLAZE glazing beads are 19mm high, giving us plenty of bite (overlap) on the glass. Replaces: MARCH 08 Scale: FULL SIZE & NTS COMMERCIAL FRAMING Transom glazing pocket secretly drained out via the drip mould recess. Successfully tested to resist 600Pa water. Drip mould recess ensures that water/salt leaves the frame at this point. The full web behind the glazing pocket lifts the water resistance from 200Pa to 600Pa. Recessed glazing wedges. 16 COMMERFIAL FRAMING Series 406 CONCEALED TRANSOM DRAINAGE Replaces: march 08 Scale: NOT TO SCALE One of the main features with the FrontGLAZE transoms is the concealed drain holes in the recessed drip groove as illustrated below. Commercial awning/casement windows. Commercial double-hung windows. ClearVENT sashless double-hung windows. Frame will also snap to: Nailing fin adaptor. Etruded aluminium building-in lug. Replaces: MARCH 08 Scale: FULL SIZE & NTS COMMERCIAL FRAMING Lug break-off groove. This jamb etrusion is also used as fied head. 18 COMMERFIAL FRAMING Series 406 MULLIONS 102mm Snap Mullion Replaces: march 08 Scale: FULL SIZE Designed for areas where water resistance is not a major problem. 300Pa water resistance 406.FXD.2 Note: For water resistance fit FrontGLAZE into sub-sills. 102mm Interlocking Mullion With the full interlocking leg behind the glazing pocket this mullion has been successfully tested to 600Pa water resistance. On FrontGLAZE the front interlocking leg is fully interlocked into the adjoining section.

22 COMMERFIAL FRAMING Series 406 DUMMY MULLION Head Replaces: march 08 Scale: HALF FULL SIZE 406.FXD.3 Dummy mullion Sill Head and sill are spliced when frame width eceeds 6.5m. Internally beaded sill type17 are always fitted into sub-sill. Vertical section through dummy mullion frame, with internally glazed sill/head. 23 Series 406 HEAD AND SILL WHEN USING DUMMY MULLION In this version of the dummy mullion frame we have used the internally beaded sill and head. The dummy mullion runs between head and sill and can be removed/installed from inside to allow internal glazing. We also offer eternally beaded sill/ transom types 14 and 15 with run through dummy mullions. Coloured animations of both versions can be viewed on the website. 31 Series 406 HINGeD DOOR THRESHOLD - OPEN IN Series 50 door bottom rail illustrated. Nursing Home Hinged Door Threshold This threshold has been designed for wheelchair access. Suits internal opening doors. 7 ramp angle. Replaces: MARCH 08 Scale: FULL SIZE & NTS COMMERCIAL FRAMING 406.HGE.7 22mm gap between underside of door and underside of threshold. Note: This threshold is not suitable for sub-sill installation. Note: As there is a clear gap under the door there is no water resistance with this type of sill detail. PAGE 1.265

32 COMMERFIAL FRAMING Series 406 HINGED DOOR THRESHOLDS - OPEN IN Replaces: march 08 Scale: FULL SIZE Internal Opening Hinged Door Thresholds Internal opening hinged door threshold 24mm high. Fit roll-in wedge between sub-sill and threshold. Drainage slots 30mm gap between underside of door and underside of threshold. Allow 20mm for the threshold including packing under sub-sill. Seal sub-sill to structure at this point. 406.HGE.7 Internal Opening Hinged Door Weather Resisting Threshold Co-etruded Santoprene seal. Drainage holes. Co-etruded Santoprene sill flap.
