4 CARVLOCK DLU4, DLU6 VISES HIGH DENSITY WORKHOLDING CARVLOCK VISES The CarvLock vise series from Kurt offers a new systems approach to high precision workholding. The 80,000-PSI ductile iron base has superior vibration damping characteristics. The ability to carve part profiles on all four sides of the movable jaws adds versatility and economical advantages. Jaw plates sold separately. DLU6 6" Vise Base Shown with DLU6ALU-Jaw Kit. Features: Productivity - multiple part workholding for better spindle utilization, reduced tool change time, and reduced machine travel from part to part. Durability - 80,000-PSI ductile iron body and steel components provide strength, rigidity and long term accuracy while absorbing any machining vibration. Versatility - the basic CarvLock vise base can be converted into other models simply by changing jaw kits. By removing the center jaw and adding the optional conversion plate it becomes a single station vise. Flexibility - quick change jaws reduce set-up times. (for greater part turn-arounds). Economy - jaws may be carved on all four sides. Self adjusting throughout entire clamping range. Can clamp A and B loads in same set-up. 10 HIGH DENSITY WORKHOLDING DOUBLELOCK VISES DOUBLELOCK VISES HYDRAULIC DLH430 DLH640 DLH800 The DLH430, DLH640 and DLH800 hydraulic DoubleLock vises from Kurt offer two clamping stations with a part capacity of 3" x 4" (DLH430), 4" x 6" (DLH640) and 6" x 8" (DLH800). The hydraulic DoubleLock vise provides repeatable clamping for high accuracy machining and handles a higher horsepower cut than the manual version. The compact design features a wide range of clamping forces up to 12,600 lbs. 1/4" stroke - 1/8" per side. Productivity multiple part workholding for better spindle utilization, reduced tool change time, and reduced machine travel from part to part. Durability 80,000-PSI ductile iron body and steel components provide strength, rigidity and long term accuracy while absorbing machining vibration. 10 year limited warranty. Solution: Design a trunnion for a fourth axis with windows that allows interchanging specific hydraulic fixture plates for different parts. CEW V M C Problem: Customer with a two-pallet VMC needed workholding for a variety of rectangular parts, quick change-over, maximizing part load. Solution: Enter Kurt s new SeraLock. Start with the MoveLock, a modular 3.5" vise, add serrations to the movable and stationary jaws, and the sub-base. 30 CUSTOM ENGINEERED WORKHOLDING V M C Problem: Customers need multiple vises on gridded subplates to allow various spacings. Rapid and accurate removal and replacement is another requirement. Solution: Design a subplate with bushed and tapped holes on a 2" x 2" grid. This allows vises to be quickly and accurately positioned anywhere on the subplate. Fixture keys allow the subplate to be quickly and accurately located on the machine table. HMC APPLICATIONS CUSTOM ENGINEERED WORKHOLDING CEW H M C Problem: Manufacturer of high volume automotive parts required hydraulic workholding on a 400mm pallet HMC. Three sided machining on each die cast part, locating on cast features, and providing preclamping. Provides continuous hydraulic connection. Solution: Design a four-face tombstone with three clamping stations per face. Provide spring loaded tapered locators to minimize error and three hydraulic swing clamps to secure each part. Install a rotary union at the top of the fixture for hydraulic connection. H M C Problem: Customer with a six-pallet HMC needed four-face tombstones with multiple clamping stations per face. Range of part sizes was 2" 18". Maximize the number of parts per face with enough clamping force to withstand a SAE 12 porting tool. Solution: SeraLock to the rescue. Solution: Kurt designed nine tombstones with 6" and 8" XLPT, DL600, DL400 and ML35 vises to clamp part sizes ranging from 2" x 2" to 30" x 34" with no set-up. When a quarter turn is applied to the screw, the split clamp jaw is forced both laterally and down, precisely clamping the part and preventing part lift at the same time. In-house tests showed zero lift when the MiniLock was used in several grinding operations. Features: By using stationary blocks or pins, two parts may be clamped by a single MiniLock. The versatile MiniLock can be used in single holding, double holding or multiples of both single and double holding applications. Ideal for hard fixturing as well as for palletizing small parts to be loaded into receivers on machine tables. 40 SELF-CENTERING VISE SCD430 SCD640 Kurt has two Self-Centering vises, a four inch jaw width (SCD430) and a six inch jaw width (SCD640). Jaw opening on the four inch model is 6.25", and 8" on the six inch. Centering accuracy from minimum to maximum opening is.0006" with.0002" repeatability.
