Over the years, Chick has built on that success, employing new manufacturing technologies, incorporating customer feedback, and continuing to work every day to support our mission of efficiency through workholding innovation. As the vast majority of our customers have experienced, the System line for batch production and the One-Lok TM CNC Vise one-off production offer even greater benefits in versatility, speed, strength, and efficiency than older Chick systems. Therefore, as of March, 0, no new complete E Series workholding systems will be sold. While most E Series parts will continue to be a stocked item (see red circles on following pages), some items will not be stocked. These items will be available in one of the following ways: Items marked by a gray circle will be available only while supplies last. For example, bases will be available while we have the material and machines to make them. During this time, we will make sure that we have all of the items to be able to assemble the bases complete. However, when the material runs out, we will no longer offer these items. Made-to-order Items marked by a yellow circle (e.g., faceplates, jaw carriers, high jaws) will no longer be inventoried but will NOT be retired at this time. Instead, in an effort to support our customers, they will be available on a made-to-order basis. Note: Made-to-order items will require a $8 setup fee on every order (including repeat orders) regardless of quantity ordered and a minimum two-week delivery.

7 Notes E SERIES DUAL STATION SET-UP: Jaw Center Jaw Jaw Third Hand Mechanism. Design and machine QwikChange Machinable Jaws to interface with the workpiece(s), or install hard jaws. NOTE: All reference surfaces must be located on the Center Jaw. Loosen the screw on the Third Hand Mechanism with the T-wrench.. Slide Jaw (moving jaw at the rear end of system) far enough from the Center Jaw to fi t the fi rst workpiece.. Insert the first workpiece against the Center Jaw and slide Jaw toward workpiece leaving a desired clearance. (Clearance range should fall between.00 to.0 ) NOTE: This clearance is set to ensure easy part removal when the system is unclamped, and will allow for variations in part size.. Tighten the screw on the Third Hand Mechanism until it bottoms. NOTE: Hand tightened screw only( Ft Lbs). Do not overtighten!. Remove the fi rst workpiece. 7. Adjust Jaw (moving jaw at the operator s end of system) using the T-wrench so that it is far enough from the Center Jaw to fi t the second workpiece. NOTE: The total travel of units is.0, units is.00. The total clearance for both Jaw and Jaw must be less than the overall travel of the unit. 8. Insert the both workpieces and turn power on. NOTE: If using a power booster, be sure the booster has a large enough volume to operate the set-up.. To unload workpieces, turn off power. Chick Hydraulic Workholding Systems are single acting (spring return). SET UP SINGLE STATION SET-UP: Jaw Jaw Third Hand Mechanism. Design and machine QwikChange Jaws to interface with the workpiece(s), or install hard jaws.. Bolt endplate to near end of Workholding System with four of the included socket head cap screws. NOTE: If setting up Multi-Lok skip step, since topplate is already bolted to Multi-Lok column.. Loosen the screw on the Third Hand Mechanism with the T-wrench. NOTE: Adjustment of the Third Hand Mechanism screw is not necessary when the system is used in the single station mode. It should be left in the loose condition to allow free movement of Jaw.. Slide Jaw fl ush with the end plate and bolt Jaw to the endplate with two of the included socket head cap screws. NOTE: All reference surfaces must be located on Jaw and/or the Center Jaw. Use the T-wrench to adjust Jaw to provide clearance to load workpieces.. Insert the workpiece and turn power on. NOTE: If using a power booster, be sure the booster has a large enough volume to operate the set-up. 7. To unload workpiece, turn off power.
