5 Types of Metal teachweld gives you the option to choose between three different base metal types: Stainless Steel, Aluminum, Mild Steel Click on the metal icon that you want to virtually weld on. 5

Welding Guns You have two screens for teachweld guns. The first is the GMAW gun process, & the second screen shows three types of guns to use for different welding processes.

Click the GMAW icon for the welding process then click on the gun type icon for the different metals you are using (NOTE: Bernard is the default standard gun to use for all metals). 6

7 Coupons teachweld offers three assembly types: T-joint, Lap joint, V-groove Click on icon for the assembly type or coupon that you would like to practice weld on. 7

10 End This button allows you to End a welding practice or save it in the user s account folder. Once you save, you will be able to see the diagnostic report. 10

11 Diagnostic After you end a welding practice, this button allows you to view the diagnostic report or grading report of your weld. 11

12 Procedure This button goes directly into the teachweld WPS (data sheet) to allow you to see the procedure expectations for the weld you are currently working on. 12

13 Inspection This button allows you to position the virtual world at an angle that best suits you. 13

14 Retry This button allows you to redo your weld without saving. 14

15 Adjust This button allows you to move the virtual coupon to the precise location to match the physical world. Click to Watch Video Demonstration 15

16 Adjustment Options To adjust the coupon, use the guide below. You must hit the Save icon for the adjustment to be saved. SAVE icon Click to Watch Video Demonstration 16

17 Quit This button quits the welding simulation and goes back to the Practice, Replay, Exercise homepage. 17

19 Main Menu Icon Click on the triangle icon in the bottom right hand corner to open the Main Menu. When open, the triangle icon will be upside down. Click on the triangle again to close the Main Menu. Click to Watch Video Demonstration 19

20 Information This menu shows the welding procedures and gives you the ability to change the welding options for an individual weld. Wire speed, amps, & voltage can be changed from default manual. Stick-out, work angle, and travel angle all show how you hold the welding gun. 20

21 Welder s Profile This menu gives you options to increase the comfort and usability of the welding experience. Preferred option: change between wire speed & amps (go to Information to see changes) Handedness: change between right and left handedness Difficulty: user can change between beginner, intermediate, or expert Mask Density: change the darkness of the mask Unit System: change between Imperial and Metric measurements Bloom Options: change the bloom of the arc 21

22 Inspection This menu gives the welder the ability to change the view of the welding platform before or after a weld. Click on the joystick with your computer mouse and drag it around to move the camera position. Click on the Predefined view to see different angles of the weld. 22

23 Parameters This shows the welding parameters from the WPS reports, giving you a view of what is expected during a weld. 23

24 Dexterity Guides This menu allows you to pick the welding technique you would like help with. A visual guide will be added to the screen. Trajectory: line guides you in straightness of your weld Stick-out: arrows show you when you need to move closer or farther away Arc speed: line guides you across the weld at the correct welding speed Travel Angle: arrows show you when you need to move to correct travel angle Work Angle: arrows show you when you need to move to correct work angle Click to Watch Video Demonstration 24

25 Calibration This is where you can improve Work Angle, Workstation, and Coupon Calibration, with the help of instructional guides. Click on the Help icon (looks like a question mark) to get a tutorial on each type of calibration Click to Watch Video Demonstration 25

27 Picking a User Account to Replay For Instructors: click on the user account you would like to look at For Student Accounts: you will only see your own user account 27

28 Choosing your Start and End Dates In the first calendar you must pick a Start date and in the second calendar you must pick an End date. This gives you a parameter of when the welds took place. 28

29 Picking a Replay to View Click on the Replay Choice corresponding to the weld that you would like to replay. Click the OK button to see the replay. 29

30 Viewing a Replay Click on the Play button to view the replay. Click on: Play button to see the replay of a user s weld Diagnostic button to see the diagnostic report for that replay Procedure button to see the WPS for this weld Inspection button to move your camera view to get a better view of weld replay Retry button to see the weld again In Loop button to have the weld replay repeat over and over in a looping fashion Quit button to end the replay and go back to simulation modes 30

33 Exercise Focus Exercises focus on testing each different welding skill that combines to create skilled welding ability. Each level has 17 exercises. Levels of Exercises Exercises start by focusing on one technique and adding more as the exercises get more difficult. 33
