3 A achments - Chemical Agents Item # Gravenhurst, Ont cds (AU 22 06) es 1c Edward on postcard Magic photography with instruc- ons to hold card to your face and then warm card near a heat source. The joke postcard produces a jackass image (much like lemon juice). Although technically an a achment it didn t interfere with it passing through the mail and was allowed. A scarce card. $30

This should have been rated postage due but escaped no ce, perhaps it could have been sent as printed ma er but there is a message along the side. A very unusual item. $35

9 Size - Mul ple Fold Out Item # Edmonton, Alta roller es 1c Edward to Taylor s Village, NB on mul -foldout with detachable postcard. Although in postcard form, it could go as printed ma er. $25

10 Size - Mul ple Fold Out Item # Amherstburg, Ont cds es 3c Admiral on postcard, to Springfield, Mass. The card is actually five postcards wide once unfolded and was properly rated as a le er at 3c. $25

11 Size - Mul ple Fold Out Item #12. 1c Edward with type 1 Bran ord precancel on fold-out and die cut shape around hand and plum, to Annadale, PEI. Tape repair on reverse. It appears as a postcard but is technically sent as printed matter and is therefore correctly paid. Nice adver sing. $50

13 Material - Wood Veneer Item #15. 1c Edward ed by machine cancel (hub missing). The card thickness caused the hub to miss striking the card (that is why thick cards are not allowed). Card is die cut, with wood veneer, should be le er rated $20 Item #16. 2c Edward ed by Kentville, NS duplex (1905) on postcard to Halifax. The postcard is thick and a wood veneer (not cardboard composi on as required), and properly paid as a 2c le er. $20

A gem of an exhibit item that is a perfect match to the previous item. $125

Properly paid as a le er rated item despite the Post Card endorsement. Leather postcards were not allowed at 1c rate. $20 Item #24 2c Edward ed by Sincoe, Ont duplex to St. Thomas, Ont, with leather teepee a ached, which is against the rules. Properly paid at the 2c le er rate despite the Post Card endorsement. $20

Despite the Post card endorsement, the card was not mailable and should have been le er rated. The card breaks addi onal rules as it is mul layers, sewn and has a message enclosed inside. $25 Item #26 1c Edward ed by cork hs on birch bark postcard, from McIntyre to St. Mary s, should have been le er rated but it was not caught. $20

Adver sement on reverse except they were a huge problem for the postal workers (they got cut) and the machines (jammed machines). $15

24 Material - Mica Gli er Item #34. 1c Edward ed by Windsor, Ont duplex (1907) to Iona, Ont, a gli er postcard which was not allowed and large PROHIBITED hs, which someone crossed out and allowed the card to arrive. Perhaps it was a kind soul because it was an Easter card. This is the only example of the Prohibited marking that I have ever seen. $100 Item #35. 1c Edward ed by Toronto machine cancel (1909) to Serviling Sta on, NY with purple DLO Canada Toronto circular hs and large UNMAILABLE hs. This card was unmailable due to the gli er or mica used.card. This is the only example of the UNMAILABLE marking that I have ever seen. $100

25 Material - Mica Gli er Item #36. 1c Edward ed by grid hs on postcard from Cheltenham to Hamilton with Local Dead Le er Office Hamilton oval and Cards outlined with diamond / dust non-transmissible.. The only example of this marking I have seen, as well. $100 Item # HHamilton to Orillia, gli er card sent at 2c le er rate. $15

26 Material - Mica Gli er Item # c Admiral ed by Sawyerville, Ont cds to Ascot Corner, Que. The gli er postcard in put into a glassine envelope which the post office encouraged. Sent at 1c le er rate. $35 Item # ca Stra ord to Collingwood, illegal card due to gillter and a achment with inserted le er in the envelope, should be le er rated. It got through.$20

27 Material - Mica Gli er Item # c Edward ed b grid hs through circular hole in glassine envelope from Sweaburg to Salford, Ont. Patrons were encouraged to use glassine envelopes for gli er postcards to prevent the mica from harming postal workers and the equipment. Card sent at 1c rate. Grid postmark lines up. Item moved during scan. $40 Item # Toronto machine es 2c Edward (edge fault) on glassine envelope which once contained a glitter postcard, redirected to Hamilton. Pays the 2c le er rate. $20

Leather billfold in the form of a 1c postal sta onery card with fake St. Roch de Quebec cds (Aout 2 04).made by J. Arthur Paquet as a promo onal item. Very high quality and a conversa on piece. Cheaper than a designer wallet, and you can exhibit it every day. J. Arthur Paquet was the eventual owner of the long established family fur and leather company. 29 Faux Postal Sta onery Post Card Item #43. Fake 1c postal card with changed design. The outer rim of the indicia reading T.J. Moore & Co St. John, St Quebec. The banner has been changed to Send a Post card to US for a list of books or sample of.. Reverse notes the firm sells office paper productss, toys, games, books etc. The card is dated. Sept $40 END
