1 F E S T I VA L OF W H A T IF Programme Guide 22 July 3 Sept 2017 at-bristol.org.uk activities - music - art - workshops - films
2 Festival of What If 2017 A summer of out of the ordinary events and experiences to spark your curiosity What happens when you ask What If? This year, we re holding our first ever Festival of What If in At-Bristol Science Centre. We re pretty excited about it. It will be a chance to celebrate what it is to be curious; to explore the questions big, small, silly and serious - that we all have about the world around us. We ve been inspired by you, our visitors, and the things you ask us. Each fortnight of the summer will take a different theme, based on a question, and so every two weeks our spaces will come alive with new weird and wonderful activities to get you thinking and doing. There will be special events, extra Planetarium shows, evening talks and outdoor film screenings. We will also be opening up some of our schools workshops to families for the very first time. During the festival, you ll find our venue looking and sounding a bit different too. At the end of each fortnight, there will be a weekend celebration with live music and lots of additional activities. We will also be working with artists as we approach our three themes in different and intriguing ways. Whether it s helping to design a house on Mars or experiencing the poetry of plants, this is a chance to look at science from a fresh perspective. This booklet gives a flavour of what to expect when you visit during one of our themed fortnights. Unless otherwise stated, all activities mentioned are included in the price of general admission. All information is correct at the time of publication and is subject to change. Please check the website for the latest details. For the latest information, admission prices and to book tickets, visit at-bristol.org.uk or call our bookings line on (Mon Fri, 9am 5pm, excluding bank holidays) Throughout the festival, we ll be capturing all your questions in a beautiful installation on our ground floor a comfortable place to think and share what puzzles or intrigues you. We can t wait to watch the installation grow over the six weeks!
