2 1. General Description FC1001 is a (VSI) with LDO(Low Drop-Out regulator), the Power-On Reset (POR), the Ring Oscillator, and the Power stage. FC1001 is adopted the FusionChips s Sub-Band Codec(SBC) Algorithm for maintaining the high quality acoustic sound. For the low power consumption, FC1001 is made by the low power CMOS processes. 1.1 Feature Built-in Power-On Reset Built-in PWM processor and Power Stage for 8Ω Speaker - AVDD=3.0V : 400mW (Typ) - AVDD=3.3V : 490mW (Typ) - AVDD=5.0V : 1.1W (Typ) Built-in Ring Oscillator (16.384MHz ± 7%) Built-in Low Drop-Out regulator (2.8V ± 0.2V) Use external Serial Flash memory. (1Mbits ~ 128Mbits) Volume Controller Text Edit Function. Maximum 30 Chapter continuous indexing play (MCU mode) (For indexing play, the sampling frequency must be same over all selected chapters) Two LED connection ports. 9 5.4.2 SPI2 Timing (SPI I/F for Serial Flash Debugging) SPI2 mode is used to program, erase, read operation of Internal Serial Flash memory. This mode uses CSB_SEL, CSB, SCK, SDATI, SDATO pins. In this mode, MCU pin should be connected to VDD. 10 6. Function Description 6.1 LED Function FC1001 has two LED control output ports. In the STA mode, LED is controlled by voice level as shown Fig7-1. 11 6.2 Index Play mode (MCU mode Only) The index play mode is prepared to increase Memory efficiency. Index play mode is valid in the MCU mode and data should be same sampling frequency. Index play mode is performed as below 1 Set index_m($01.bit1) to 1. 2 Set chapter numbers using INDEX_CHAP($0b). You can set maximum 30 chapters. 3 Set sbc_on($02.bit7) to 1. 4 Voice is synthesized. 6.3 Ext_Mem play mode (MCU mode Only) You can use data that is transferred MCU or another IC instead of the external serial flash that is connected to FC1001 directly. Input data should be encoded SBC Codec, 1 set ext_mem($01.bit0) to 1. 2 set sbc_on($02.bit7) to 1. 3 Data is inputted by SBC_DATA($0ah) register. When BUSY pin goes High, FC1001 s Internal FIFO is full. So, you stop data transfer till BUSY pin goes low. 4 After voice synthesis process is completed, clear ext_mem($01.bit0)to DEC KEY (STA mode Only) 1 When current chapter number is n and you push DEC key one time, chapter number n-1 is decoded. After process is completed, chapter number is n-1. 2 When current chapter number is n and you push DEC key m time, chapter number n-m is decoded. After process is completed, chapter number is n-m. 3 When current chapter number is n and you push DEC key m time, chapter number n-m is decoded. If you stop decoding, the synthesis process is stopped and chapter number is n-m. 6.5 PLAY Key (STA mode Only) 1 When current chapter number is n and you push PLAY key one time, chapter n is decoded. After decoding process is completed, chapter number is n+1. 2 When current chapter number is n and you push PLAY key one time, chapter n is decoded. If you push STOP key during decoding process, the decoding process is stopped and chapter number is n. (Chapter number does not change) 6.6 KEY0 ~ 15 (STA mode Only) You can decode chapter directly from chapter 0 to chapter 15 using KEY0 ~ KEY15. Chapter16 and above chapters can be decoded by PLAY key or DEC key. 6.7 REP key (STA mode Only) When you set REP key as High, the same chapter is decoded repeatedly. FusionChips Inc. Rev
