1 Features MHz to 1 GHz frequency range Antennas Moderate gain for maximum iumination area Low VSWR of ess than 2:1 minimizes mismatch osses between ampifier and antenna 2 kw continuous RF input power (Maximum) Tough powder coat finish ETS-EMCO s is a broadband, ineary-poarized og periodic dipoe array antenna (LPDA) with a MHz to 1 GHz frequency range. The antenna has moderate gain to provide an idea iumination area. It exhibits ow VSWR of ess than 2:1, which minimizes mismatch osses between the ampifier and antenna. The handes high power requirements of up to 2 kw for generating high eectric fied strength. The 3144G is constructed of ightweight, corrosion-resistant auminum, providing years of troube-free service. It receives a tough powder coat finish, which protects against scratching and abrasion better than painted or bare surfaces. An optiona wheeed pedesta is avaiabe which permits horizonta and vertica antenna poarization, height, and titange adjustments. A pneumatic cyinder is used to change poarization, and can be remotey controed using an optiona ETS-EMCO Mode 2090 Controer or an ETS-EMCO 2190 Virtua Controer. The Mode 2090 is IEEE-488 compatibe, and uses fiber optic I/O for communication with the pedesta. The Mode 2190 is PC resident software, and aso uses fiber optic I/O for communication. (See separate product data sheets for additiona detais.) Eectrica Fied Distribution* The can be used in both horizonta and vertica poarizations. The antenna provides a haf-power beamwidth greater than 50 across the whoe operating frequency range. The fina design is thoroughy optimized numericay and experimentay for efficient radiation and iumination of a arge uniform area. In the graphs that foow, a fu numerica mode is used to anayze the Mode 3144G, and no assumption was made about the input impedance and radiation pattern of the LPDA antenna. The input power to the antenna is 1.8 kw (maximum RF output from the ampifier provided). The LPDA antenna is at 1.8 m height from the ground and is tited to boresight to a 1 m height point on the targeted uniform fied pane. Fied measurement is based on V/m being the strongest fied point in the uniform area with the given input power. For both horizonta and vertica poarizations, V/m with 0 db to -3 db uniformity can be achieved up to 500 MHz across the whoe 5 x 2.4m 2 area. Above 500 MHz, For vertica poarization, from 500 MHz - 1 GHz, fied uniformity (0 db to -3 db) can be achieved in the horizonta direction. In the vertica direction, fied uniformity is achieved 0.6 m above the foor in a 5 (w) x 1.9(h) m 2 area. For horizonta poarization, from 500 MHz - 1 GHz, fied uniformity (0 db to -3 db) can be achieved in the vertica direction. In the horizonta direction, fied uniformity is achieved up to a width of 2.5m (i.e., 0.6 m above the foor, 2.5 (w) x 2.4(h) m 2 ). 1

2 The fied distribution in the required area (0.6 m above the foor, 5 x 2.4 m 2 ) for the setup in Figure 2 is simuated. Note that the antenna is tited with respect to the test area. Typica frequencies are shown beow in Figures Fied distribution data at additiona frequencies are avaiabe upon request.
