2 Glencoe, Scotland Some shots from a recent trip to Glencoe in the Scottish Highlands. We were there for only one overnight stay but managed to pack a lot into our 2 days of photography in this amazingly breathtaking part of the country. Not having done a lot of landscape photography before this was a learning curve for me, I loved it and can see how this could become addictive. Being a MacDonald myself, there was a certain sadness hiding in the beauty of the mountains, in 1692, the Campbells, after accepting hospitality from the MacDonalds during a bitter winter, massacred the Clan MacDonald as they slept, on instruction from the English King. This is known as the 'Massacre of Glencoe'. Lorraine Strang Page 2

23 Club outing The Tullamore Camera Club members went to Tihilly for its April outing. This is the site of a monastery which was given by St Fintan to St Cera to establish a nunnery. There are the remains of a Church and a carved High Cross. Bridie Roe Page 23

29 South Kildare Photography Club We had a guest speaker, Dave Connolly, who gave an interesting presentation on Astrophotography. The following week we held an outdoor practical at Nass Harbour capturing the sunset and the blue hour. There was a good turnout on what turned out to be a nice evening. Pamela Donoghue Page 29
