1 Club Officials Chairperson... Margaret Lothian Secretary... Gordon Scott Treasurer... Steve Collier Webmaster... Willie Mills Internal Appraisal Secretary... Jim Reid External Competition Secretary... Gordon Scott Equipment Manager... Dougie Cockburn Communication Secretary... Debra Mills Membership Secretary... Rab Stout For general enquiries: Mid Calder Camera Club is registered with the Scottish Charities Regulator OSCR No SC038556
2 As the Chairperson of Mid Calder Camera Club, I would like to welcome back our existing members and extend a very warm welcome to our new members. Over the past five years the club has grown from about 10 members at each meeting to well over 25. Membership numbers now show 100, although not everyone has renewed their membership. At the moment we have 50 paid-up members, which highlights the growing popularity of the club. The club belongs to everyone and taking an active part in club events is an important element of a camera club. It is not only beginners, but all members, including the more knowledgeable club members, who learn from attending meetings. By exchanging information and ideas, we can all advance our skills in photography and pass on skills and ideas to other like-minded individuals.
3 There are some exciting things planned for the coming year and the clubs executive committee will organise speakers and other topics for the coming year s syllabus. We hope there is something for everyone. AND, please enter images for the club s internal appraisals. It can be a bit daunting at first, but this is a way to critique your work and to improve your skills. The committee is always looking for new ideas and feedback, so if you have any ideas for the future, or if you have any questions, please don t hesitate to contact me at chairman@mccc.org.uk. Margaret Lothian, Chairperson Mid Calder Camera Club, September 2012
4 Club Aims The aims of the club are to promote the hobby of photography to any person whether beginner or expert, whether young or old. The syllabus of the club involves a number of different topics to achieve this aim. Topics include talks and demonstrations, meetings with other clubs, competitions, and club outings.
