3 SIMPLE, YET INCREDIBLY POWERFUL NEW THE ADVENT OF SPOT CORRECTIONS FEATURES DxO introduces a new enhancement to its much-heralded Smart Lighting tool : Spot Weighted mode, which produces the nearly identical results as spot metering provides in camera, but with the added benefit of post-capture fine-tuning flexibility. DxO Smart Lighting now incorporates face detection to define a region of interest, then uses information from that area to help define an intelligent tone map that is then applied to the entire image. This intelligent application of Smart Lighting better extends the dynamic range, adds fill light, and improves contrast while optimizing illumination on faces.
